Last Monday on Raw, Rey Mysterio suffered a humiliating defeat to Andrade, where he dropped two straight falls to El Idolo. He then had a moment backstage which seemed to cast some doubt over his future in WWE.
Mysterio was asked about the loss and said that he does not know where his career is heading and that he needs to support his family. This could be the beginning of a story for Rey Mysterio, who has not had the best of times since returning.
He got absolutely manhandled by Bobby Lashley on his return and since then, while having some great matches, Andrade has been embarrassing him, time and time again. We do not know what is in store for the Master of the 619, but it is sure to keep viewers intrigued. Could this be the final stage of Mysterio's legendary career? Who knows?
Anyway, here are three directions Rey Mysterio could go in, after his crushing defeat on Monday Night Raw.

#3 Redemption
As Rey Mysterio has done throughout his entire career, he could fight back. The matches he has had with Andrade have been legendary and some redemption from the Master of the 619 would not be such a bad thing.
He could even go on to challenge for the United States Championship that he was forced to vacate. It could be seen as somewhat of a last hurrah for Mysterio, as his current run has been seeming.
Dream matches against the likes of AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, and Ricochet are yet to take place and with Mysterio still part of the active roster, now is the time.
WWE could book the legendary luchador to recover from his recent slump and put over the current generation of talent.
Who knows, this new-found desperation could prove to be the inspiration for a career-defining run that will cement Rey Mysterio's legacy as the biggest little man in WWE history.
#2 Hanging up the mask
Over the past few weeks, Andrade has seemed to have somewhat of an obsession with Rey Mysterio's mask. Once a masked man himself, the former NXT Champion is looking to go to the next level of stardom by doing the one thing that will cause him irrevocable heat.
He did remove Mysterio's mask a few weeks ago after beating him, but a permanent loss of the legend's prized possession would make Andrade's career.
Rey Mysterio seemed really desperate in this interview and while that desperation could be a boon for him, it could prove to be his downfall. He could get obsessed with beating Andrade that he puts his mask, and possibly his career, on the line.
When he ultimately fails to defeat his biggest foe, it could be time for him to hang up his mask and possibly call time on his wrestling career.
With his son Dominick training to become a wrestler, Mysterio could pass the mask on to him.
#1 Joining forces with Andrade
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. This has been a very common occurrence in WWE over the years. It has happened with the Wyatt Family on multiple occasions, while Shawn Michaels was forced to work for JBL to support his family at the end of 2008.
The two scenarios mentioned could merge and form one of the more intriguing possibilities for Rey Mysterio. He could join Andrade and Zelina Vega, forming one hell of a team. Whether he is just a manager or a tag team partner, Mysterio would do wonders in this role.
He did say in the interview, that he has to support his family. This would then mean to do just that, hanging on the impressive success coming Andrade's way. Mysterio would not necessarily turn heel, he could just be a reluctant babyface. It would form one hell of a dynamic between two performers who have tremendous chemistry together.
This would ultimately lead to the Master of the 619 breaking free and becoming his own man again, going on a final run on his own or putting over Andrade one last time.
Whatever happens with Rey Mysterio, it seems intriguing. Hopefully, we see more involvement with Andrade, simply because the pair of them are tremendous together.
This seems likely to be the final stretch of Mysterio's unbelievable career, so WWE must make it count.
