The announcement of Roman Reigns returning to Raw next week to update fans about his health and approximate date for return to the ring has sent the internet into a frenzy.

While it seems as though WWE has lost the element of surprise with the announcement, lovers and haters both are excited to see The Big Dog return and update the WWE Universe.

Recently, Reigns’ trainer took to Instagram to post a photo with the former Universal Champion showing that he was training to get back in the ring soon.

If Reigns is fit and cleared for action soon, we will surely see him on Raw very soon as WWE is trying hard to increase the ratings of the show.

Keeping that in mind, we must also remember that Reigns never lost his Universal Championship, but relinquished it instead. Therefore when The Big Dog returns, he will have his eyes set on the prize which will be defended by Brock Lesnar next at WrestleMania 35 in April against Seth Rollins.

In this article, we will look at three steps WWE could follow in order to crown Roman Reigns the Universal Champion once again!

#3 Team-up with Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman is once again feeling isolated on Monday nights. While he finds a partner in Finn Balor, and even Apollo Crews at times, he is being outnumbered by the heels on Raw for no apparent reason.

At Elimination Chamber, Strowman took on Baron Corbin in a No Disqualification match which was soon turned on its head by the interference of Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre who destroyed the Monster. However, the duo did not come out to help Corbin in his match against Strowman on Raw this week.

Roman Reigns can surely come back to help the big man even out the odds against Corbin, McIntyre, and Lasley. This will help him get back on his feet too, and also get the fans behind him.

Strowman and Reigns can easily find a partner in the recently face-turned Dean Ambrose who can surely use a good feud on his way out of the company.

#2 Number 1 contender’s feud

Reigns and McIntyre need an extended feud
Reigns and McIntyre need an extended feud

A spinoff from the previously mentioned feud can be one between Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre. Both men have become the pillars of Raw, as McIntyre is getting a good push for his heelish tactics, while Roman Reigns got one as the biggest face of the brand.

Roman Reigns’ will most definitely be in line for a championship match upon his return, while Drew McIntyre has proven to be the fiercest villain on Raw, and is most deserving of a Universal Championship shot.

This can ignite a new angle which will definitely hit home with the fans who will be behind Reigns now more than ever before, and help get Raw back up on its feet with some top-level rivalries.

The result could see a few matches leading up to a #1 contender’s match between the two men at WrestleMania for a shot at the Universal Championship.

#1 Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar/Seth Rollins

Will Reigns be the one to slay The Beast once again?
Will Reigns be the one to slay The Beast once again?

Since Roman Reigns is already deserving of a Universal Championship match upon his return, there is little doubt that he will come out on top in whatever feud he is put in before WrestleMania 35 while waiting for his chance post-WrestleMania.

WWE has already built up the Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar angle very well, so it’d be unfair to add Roman Reigns to their bout at the grandest stage of them all.

If Seth Rollins wins the title at WrestleMania, it would be a great twist to see Reigns turn heel and attack his former Shield-brother in pursuit of the championship.

On the other hand, Lesnar winning would surely result in a rematch between Reigns and Lesnar for the title sooner than later.

In case Rollins is unable to compete at WrestleMania 35 due to the injury he’s trying to overcome, then Reigns can take his place in the match to slay the Beast once again.
