3 reasons why Becky Lynch, Bayley, and Shayna Baszler are in a triple threat match at Survivor Series

Survivor Series, which is considered one of the big four pay-per-views of WWE, will take place in less than three weeks. The official build-up for the pay-per-view commenced on the SmackDown after Crown Jewel when NXT invaded the show. The Black & Yellow brand also made its presence felt on RAW this week.

Shayna Baszler, the NXT Women's Champion, was one of the NXT Superstars to invade the main roster as she assaulted Bayley on the Blue Brand's show and confronted Becky Lynch on the Red Brand's show just a few days later. After an intense face-off between Lynch and Baszler, WWE confirmed a women's triple threat match between Bayley, Becky Lynch, and Shayana Baszler. The three champions of three different brands will collide to prove brand supremacy at Survivor Series.

Let's analyse three reasons why WWE has booked a triple threat match between the three women at Survivor Series.

#3 Another match between Bayley and Becky Lynch would be less exciting for the fans

For the last few years, two champions of RAW and SmackDown traditionally cross paths in a one-on-one bout at Survivor Series. Had Bayley and Becky Lynch fought each other in a one-on-one match, it wouldn't have been a fresh match for the WWE Universe, considering the two women wrestled several times in the past.

Bayley and Becky Lynch, two of the NXT Four Horsewomen of the company, have a long history between them that indeed goes back to their time spent NXT. While they had a tremendous feud on the developmental brand, they have also had a number of singles matches on the main roster. When Bayley moved to SmackDown a few months ago, she faced Becky Lynch in a singles match and lost the belt in convincing fashion.

Shayna Baszler's addition is certainly a breath of fresh air at Survivor Series. Neither Bayley nor Becky Lynch has faced Shayna Baszler, and they are almost guaranteed to produce an outstanding match.

#2 A great way to introduce Shayna Baszler to the main roster

When they moved to USA Network in September, NXT was introduced to a larger audience. However, the main roster has different level of exposure and popularity and far fewer fans watch NXT regularly, especially when it was exclusive to the WWE Network. Shayna Baszler's inclusion in the triple threat match will help to introduce herself to the main roster, giving her the opportunity to showcase her talent.

Making her NXT debut in 2017, Shayna Baszler has been the dominant name of the NXT Women's Division. With her MMA background, she has been an impressive performer and has delivered a number of classic matches on the Black & Yellow brand. Baszler is the reigning NXT Women's Champion, and she is the first woman to win the title twice.

Kevin Owens had his first match on the roster while he was the NXT Champion. After defeating John Cena in his very first match on the main roster, Owens went on to become a big name in WWE. Similarly, Baszler, the NXT Women's Champion, could make a great first impression if she pins either Becky Lynch or Bayley in her first match on a WWE PPV.

#1 Planting a seed for the big return of Ronda Rousey

It's no secret that Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey are friends, having a background in UFC. Rousey was a pioneer to the success of the UFC Women's Division while Baszler had a two-year stint in UFC before pursuing a career in professional wrestling. Baszler and Rousey are known as two of the Four MMA Horsewomen in WWE (along with Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke, who are also now in NXT). In fact, Rousey also showed her support for Baszler at Mae Young Classic tournament in 2017.

Ronda Rousey hasn't been on TV since competing at WrestleMania 35 when she lost the RAW Women's Championship to Becky Lynch. The Man also became the first woman to pin Rousey in WWE. Whenever Rousey returns to the squared circle, one thing is certain that she will go after Becky Lynch, with a motive to avenge the loss at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

When Baszler came face to face with Lynch on RAW, the former mentioned the name of Ronda Rousey and the Survivor Series match could open a gate for the return of Rousey. It will not be surprising if Rousey makes a shocking appearance at Survivor Series, helping her friend against the RAW and SmackDown Women's Champions. Even if Rousey doesn't return, the match could be the first step towards a dream match between the MMA Horsewomen and WWE Horsewomen in the future.
