Here are a few key factors behind Brock Lesnar being sidelined on Monday Night RAW as of late

Brock Lesnar is the reigning WWE Universal Champion, however, despite holding the prestigious title, 'The Beast Incarnate' has lately been sidelined on the WWE's flagship show Monday Night RAW. Now granted that Lesnar's 'Advocate' Paul Heyman and Lesnar himself do show up every now and then, the Universal Title picture has become somewhat of an afterthought on RAW.

Having been a fan of the WWE for a few decades now, it feels just as strange to me -- and I'm assuming you feel the same -- that the biggest title on WWE RAW has little-to-no hype surrounding it as we inch closer to WrestleMania 35, which takes place next month.

Today, we take a special look at a few key reasons why Brock Lesnar is being sidelined on RAW...

#3 Because the Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Cormier UFC bout is likely to happen this year

UFC 235 is in the books now, and UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones successfully defended his title against Anthony 'Lionheart' Smith with a dominant 5-round Unanimous Decision win. However, Jones -- who had previously stated that he'd love to fight Brock Lesnar at Heavyweight in the UFC -- will not be getting the fight with Lesnar.

According to UFC President Dana White, Jon Jones' longtime nemesis and current UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier will be fighting Lesnar sooner rather than later.

Now, let's take a look at how this affects Lesnar's standing in the WWE.

Lesnar could very well fight Cormier later this year and then continue with his part-time schedule in the WWE. However, it's understandable why Lesnar's role on Monday Night RAW is even more limited than it used to be a few months ago.

Lesnar vs. Cormier for the UFC Heavyweight Title could be announced anytime in the weeks to come, and therefore, the WWE seems to be focusing more on other Superstars...

#2 Because Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre have been dominating RAW

I literally winced while writing the aforementioned statement. Alright, let's get one thing straight: Neither Braun Strowman nor Drew McIntyre has held the top prize on Monday Night RAW, the WWE Universal Championship.

However, it's indeed an undisputed fact that Strowman and McIntyre have both been accorded a huge push by the WWE. In fact, even prior to Roman Reigns' hiatus from October 22nd, 2018 until his return on the February 25th, 2019 episode of Monday Night RAW; Strowman and McIntyre were being pushed as legitimate threats to the biggest star in WWE right now -- Roman Reigns!

Now, Brock Lesnar is obviously an anomaly in this entire situation, and his brand doesn't really take a hit in spite of other top Superstars such as Strowman, McIntyre and Reigns being promoted more than him. However, by focusing more on these full-time Superstars, the WWE has managed to divert the fans' attention away from the fact that RAW's top titleholder, the Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, is almost always absent from the show...

#1 Because both the WWE as well as the WWE Universe have grown accustomed to Brock Lesnar's ways

The WWE as a company as well as the WWE Universe has now grown accustomed to Brock Lesnar's ways. Since returning to WWE in 2012, Lesnar has only performed for the company on a part-time basis.

However, as compared to 6-7 years back, if you are to examine the current WWE roster, the talent pool has tons of Superstars with proven brand value and an adequate amount of experience to help fill the void left by Lesnar's absence. Today, the RAW roster alone has the likes of Ronda Rousey, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns.

Honestly speaking, these Superstars are more than capable of filling the gaps left by Lesnar. As a result, it's becoming increasingly more evident that Lesnar is being sidelined from Monday Night RAW. Whether or not that changes in the days to come remains to be seen.

Nevertheless, the positive side of the WWE aggressively focusing on Superstars other than Lesnar is that the fans are finally according praise to the company's strategy of aiming to build and utilize new stars as we move forward.

The most important factor at play here is that because the Universal Title is still on Lesnar's shoulders, it continues to remain an absent entity on RAW.
