SmackDown Live was an awesome show this week where we witnessed some impressive matches. Despite having a good show, we didn't see a women's bout this week, however, Alexa Bliss hosted 'A Moment of Bliss' with her tag team partner Nikki Cross.

Charlotte Flair was the special guest of the show as The Queen was bragging about her memorable victory against the WWE Hall Famer Trish Stratus at the Biggest Party of the Summer. The current SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley interrupted Charlotte. The Hugger and The Queen had a heated confrontation as they were taking shots at each other.

Charlotte challenged Bayley to put the SmackDown Women's Championship on the line at Clash of Champions. Being a fighting champion, Bayley accepted the challenge, and now the two women are set to cross paths at Clash of Champions next month.

Charlotte already won the most coveted women's prize of the Blue Brand twice this year and she will be getting another opportunity. It will be interesting to see if she manages to become a ten-time Women's Champion at Clash of Champions.

Here we discuss three reasons why Charlotte Flair is challenging Bayley.

#3 SmackDown Live doesn't have a credible challenger for Bayley

Bayley, who was part of RAW since her main roster debut, switched brands at Superstar Shake-Up this year. Her fortune altered on the Blue Brand as she won the Women's Money in the Bank and grabbed the SmackDown Women's Title on the same night. Since winning the belt, it has been a sumptuous title reign for The Hugger.

SmackDown Live might have a talented roster, it doesn't have a legitimate challenger for Bayley. Ember Moon, who was the last title challenger for Bayley, didn't pose a serious threat to the champion at SummerSlam. Prior to Moon, Alexa Bliss was chasing the SmackDown Women's Champion but The Goddess is part of the RAW roster. Bliss fought Bayley at Stomping Grounds and Extreme Rules but the latter defended the belt successfully.

Judging by the scenario, Charlotte Flair seems like the only prominent name to challenge the champion. Though Bayley is the holder of SmackDown Women's Title, there is no denying that Charlotte is the biggest name of the SmackDown Women's roster.

#2 Charlotte Flair never got a rematch after losing the SmackDown Women's Title to Bayley

Charlotte Flair lost the SmackDown Women's Title to Becky Lynch at Showcase of Immortals this year. Following the loss, The Queen got a rematch at Money in the Bank where she faced Becky Lynch. The Man had a mountain to climb as she was forced to wrestle twice on the same night. The Queen recaptured the blue belt at Money in the Bank but the celebration was cut short by Bayley who cashed in her Money in the Bank contract to win the SmackDown Women's Championship.

After dropping the belt to Bayley at Money in the Bank, Charlotte never got a rematch. Following Money in the Bank, Charlotte and Bayley crossed paths in a tag-team match but they never locked horns in a singles match. The Queen also competed in a triple threat match to become the number one contender for Bayley but the match was won by Alexa Bliss. Subsequently, Charlotte took a hiatus and she came back to face Trish Stratus at SummerSlam.

Considering Charlotte never received a rematch after dropping the SmackDown Women's Championship to Bayley, she certainly deserves to face the champion at Clash of Champions.

#1 Charlotte and Bayley delivered awesome matches in the past

Charlotte Flair and Bayley have a history as they are two of the four horsewomen in WWE. Back in NXT, Bayley and Charlotte locked horns a couple of times. When Bayley was drafted to RAW, the two women fought each other a few times and they always produced awe-inspiring matches.

While Charlotte is a multi-time women's Champion, Bayley is a two-time Women's Champion. During her tenure on RAW, The Hugger had a lengthy feud with The Queen. Bayley won the RAW Women's Title once and she beat Charlotte to win the red belt. Moreover, she also pinned Charlotte in a rematch and her title reign lasted 76 days.

There is no doubt that both Bayley and Charlotte are dexterous in the squared circle. If Charlotte is one of the best in-ring performers of the women's division, the current SmackDown Women's Champion is not far away. Since Charlotte and Bayley are set to tussle at Clash of Champions, we could expect another classic. Regardless of the outcome of the match, the two women could tear the house down if they are booked well. They already fought in regular matches before and the match should have a new stipulation.
