Survivor Series is just around the corner, and so far, WWE has done a good job with the storylines leading up to the PPV. The three-way tug of war between NXT, SmackDown, and RAW has been magnificent to watch. Expect this chaotic build-up to continue until the 24th of November.
One match that was made official for Survivor Series on RAW this week was Brock Lesnar vs Rey Mysterio for the WWE Championship. It is safe to say that the WWE Universe wasn't expecting this at the slightest as everybody had their eyes peeled on the fact The Fiend Bray Wyatt might face The Beast Incarnate.
Nevertheless, Mysterio vs Lesnar isn't bad after all, but the fact of the matter is that this match's result is quite easy to predict. The Beast has recently won the WWE Championship and there's next to no chance that he is losing his title so soon.
In this piece, we state the three reasons why Rey Mysterio should beat Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series and become the new WWE Champion:
#3 To eliminate a legend's lost credibility
Rey Mysterio's return to WWE - which happened in 2018 - hasn't been a great one. He hasn't looked anywhere near his best. The Master of the 619 has been in the mid-card since he made his return and this is the first time WWE has decided to give him a huge title opportunity.
Making him lose to The Beast at Survivor Series will only downplay Mysterio's already lost credibility. In order to tell the WWE Universe just how good The Biggest Little Man is, WWE has to give a thought on making Mysterio the WWE Champion.
Not only will it bring him back to the top of the card, but it'll also tell the whole WWE Universe that Mysterio means business. The Master of the 619 needs this title win more than ever in his WWE career.

#2 Because nobody would expect it
Whatever a Superstar does in WWE is aimed at grabbing the attention of the audience in the crowd, as well as those watching on TV. For this very reason, Vince McMahon might be contemplating at handing a shock victory to Rey Mysterio.
WWE could pull the trigger on this decision when nobody is expecting it, which could get the entire wrestling fanbase talking talk about it. Making Mysterio the WWE Champion will only make viewers tune in for the subsequent RAW and that is what McMahon would want.
Going into this match, almost everyone in the WWE Universe can predict what will happen even before tthe bell rings. Mysterio will be taken to Suplex City before he rallies around, gains momentum and then Lesnar hits the F5 for the win.
Just for that reason, and to add some unpredictability to the show, WWE should make Mysterio the WWE Champion, because we all know that the WWE Universe loves a shock.
#1 To keep this feud going until Cain Velasquez returns
At the end of the day, we all know that this feud is the continuation of what panned out at Crown Jewel. Mysterio's son was beaten hard by Brock Lesnar, so Mysterio brought in Cain Velasquez to be the equaliser, but the former UFC star failed in his attempt to defeat The Beast at Crown Jewel.
For some reason, this looks like a filler feud, booked to keep Velasquez in and around the WWE Championship picture. Hence, if Mysterio wins, this feud between him and The Beast is likely to continue for a long while.
Then, after some time, Lesnar could win the WWE Championship again, only this time he beats and brutalises Mysterio. Those events could then transpire to a Velasquez vs Lesnar rematch. It's pretty standard storytelling, as most expect Velasquez to get another chance at Lesnar.
Don't be surprised if this feud between Mysterio and Lesnar stretches out until even Royal Rumble and then WWE decides to bring Velasquez back in the mix.
