Sometimes getting released can also prove to be a blessing in disguise

Getting released from the company is never a good piece of news for a WWE Superstar. But from WWE's perspective, it is always about pushing the sturdy talent and giving a break to struggling ones.

Sometimes getting released can also prove to be a blessing in disguise. Jinder Mahal whose start in WWE was a bit rocky was released, but he worked hard and later came back to the company and became WWE Champion. Also, Drew McIntyre, the so-called chosen one also got sacked, but he rebounded then came back, and is now billed to be a future Universal Champion.

In this article, I list WWE Superstars who deserve a second chance, and those who don’t.

#5 Deserve - Tessa Blanchard

Tessa Blanchard is a third-generation pro-wrestler, her father, Tully Blanchard, is one-fourth member of The Four Horsemen. She has pro-wrestling in her blood.

Tessa has appeared in WWE on many occasions, one of them was at Mae Young Classic Tournament season 1. Though she was eliminated in the first round of the tournament, her performance was excellent.

After the match, WWE had the chance to sign another Blanchard - however, they didn't do it.

Now Tessa is working with Impact Wrestling and different other indie promotions. In Impact Wrestling, she is the current Knockout Champion. Her work as a heel champion is top-notch and outstanding.

By looking at her performances, I can say that WWE has missed out on an exquisite talent by not signing her. Maybe they should consider her one more time.

#4 Don’t deserve - Big Cass

Cass was reported for misbehaving backstage
Cass was reported for misbehaving backstage

Big Cass was always supposed to be a successful guy in the company.

Why not?

He was tall, good on the mic, and a tough guy in the ring. These qualities were enough to take him to the next level. But unfortunately, because of Cass’ unprofessional behaviour, he was shown the exit door.

The reason for this as reported is that Cass had gone out of script a few times, which the man behind the curtain didn’t like. Also, Cass was reported for misbehaving backstage.

These foolish mistakes made by the 7-feet tall man eventually got him fired.

That being said, after all the mistakes Cass has made in the past, it’s better for WWE to keep their distance from him.

#3 Deserve - Emma

When Emma was rehabbing from her back injury, WWE displayed vignettes of her makeover

Emma started her WWE career in 2012 with a clumsy dancer gimmick. Just after spending two years on NXT, she was called up to the main roster. There she spent almost a year before returning to NXT again. WWE officials resented her clumsy dancer gimmick and maybe that is why she was sent back

And then Emma came back to the yellow brand and started with a new villainous character. There she spent a year before getting called up again to the main roster. This time around, Emma pushed all barriers in her way, but not for long.

When Emma was rehabbing from her back injury, WWE displayed vignettes of her makeover from “Emma to Emmalina”. But this new gimmick was dropped after a few weeks. The reason reported for this was that Emma was not willing to go along with it.

Following this, Emma spent a few months on the main roster before getting released in 2017. Now in Ring of Honor (ROH), Emma is working as Tenille Dashwood. There she’s putting up stellar matches each week.

#2 Don’t deserve - Rich Swann

Swann claimed he was ready for retirement
Swann claimed he was ready for retirement

Rich Swann made his WWE debut in 2015, and he began his WWE career with NXT. There he spent a year before getting called up to 205 Live.

There he became a one-time cruiserweight champion.

He held the title for over two months before finally dropping it to Neville at Royal Rumble 2017. After a few months of losing the title, Swann was arrested for domestic violence, which eventually resulted in WWE laying off Swann for violating the company’s zero-tolerance policy against domestic violence.

Following his release, Swann claimed he was ready for retirement. However, Swann signed a contract with Impact Wrestling.

Right now, we don’t know whether WWE will rehire Swann or not, but if they decide not to, then it is a smart choice because Swann made an unforgettable mistake.

#1 Deserve - Neville

Neville deserves more than a second chance in WWE
Neville deserves more than a second chance in WWE

Neville is probably one of the finest WWE Superstars the company has ever seen. His high-flying maneuvers and tough attitude made him extraordinary. Because of this, Neville became a multi-time champion in the company.

Despite this, Neville was always seen as a mid-carder, and was left out of PPVs every time.

But things changed for “The Man Gravity Forgot” when he moved to 205 Live. There he captured the cruiserweight title two times. But this new found success also didn’t last long for him, as he left the company soon after his second reign ended.

The reason for this as reported was that Neville wasn't willing to work with the company, as he was unhappy. Therefore, the king of cruiserweight decided to walk out of the company.

Neville recently signed for Cody Rhodes' AEW.
