3 SmackDown Live Superstars who should be drafted to RAW and 3 who shouldn't

Who will switch brands?
Who will switch brands?

Starting this week, WWE will go through some huge changes. RAW will continue to air on the USA Network, but SmackDown Live will shift to FOX. While fans can expect a whole lot of new on the Blue Brand, the same is expected on the Red Brand. Given the fact that FOX is one of the biggest networks in the United States, the Blue Brand is expected to give RAW some of its toughest competition yet.

After the FOX move, there will be another draft. This is despite there being a Superstar Shakeup in the aftermath of WrestleMania 35. After the introduction of the Wild Card Rule, the effectiveness of the brand split has greatly diminished. The Wild Card Rule will officially end with this new era of wrestling and its absence will once again bring great meaning to the brand split.

The RAW and SmackDown Live drafts are set to take place on October 11th and 14th, respectively. Let's take a look at three Superstars who should leave SmackDown for RAW and three others who should stay put.

#3 Shouldn't move to RAW: Kevin Owens

KO

Kevin Owens is certainly one of the biggest names on SmackDown Live, and he has become an asset to the brand in recent months. 'The Prize Fighter' has been enjoying an incredible run as a babyface and will wrestle Shane McMahon on FOX's SmackDown premiere.

After making his main roster debut, Owens became a leading Superstar on RAW, where he won the Universal Championship. Owens was drafted to the Blue Brand after WrestleMania 33, but didn't have a noteworthy run early on. In comparison, Owens' current run has been excellent, and he has turned into a fan favorite. Owens' rivalry with Shane McMahon has been a lengthy one, so it should come to a conclusion this Friday on SmackDown.

Given his current momentum, Owens doesn't have to switch brands. Owens challenged the WWE Champion at Fastlane and Money in the Bank this year, and could get back in the title picture, after wrapping up his heated rivalry with Shane McMahon.

#3 Should move to RAW: Asuka

Asuka
Asuka

Asuka is currently part of the Women's Tag Team Division, as a member of The Kabuki Warriors. The team have not been able to grab the Women's Tag Team Championships yet, but they have been together since Kairi Sane made her main roster debut. Despite their association with Paige, the duo haven't reached their full potential.

Asuka arrived on SmackDown Live last year, after WrestleMania 34. While 'The Empress of Tomorrow' was expected to become one of the most prominent names in the Women's Division, she is far from it now. Although Asuka won the SmackDown Women's Title, her reign was substandard, and she dropped it to Charlotte only a couple of weeks before WrestleMania 35.

Asuka is a top-notch singles performer and certainly deserves to be a leading name in any women's division. If WWE splits The Kabuki Warriors in the next draft, Asuka could move to RAW, where she should do well. While Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch are currently dominating the Women's Division on the Red Brand, Asuka could become an excellent addition that challenges the top tier. Kairi Sane, on the other hand, could also be used well as a singles Superstar on SmackDown Live.

#2 Shouldn't move to RAW: Buddy Murphy

Buddy Murphy is still a newcomer to SmackDown Live and has competed in a limited number of matches since arriving on the Blue Brand. The former Cruiserweight Champion is currently without an opponent, but might find his next rival after the FOX debut. There is no doubt that Murphy has huge potential and if he is booked well, could be a leading name on SmackDown Live.

Murphy had to wait a few months before he could make his long-awaited in-ring debut on SmackDown Live. The Australian Superstar was involved in the recent Roman Reigns storyline and made his SmackDown debut against 'The Big Dog.' Murphy didn't beat Reigns, but his debut match was certainly one of the best matches on the Blue Brand this year. Murphy subsequently faced Daniel Bryan, earning a massive victory over the former WWE Champion.

After making a striking first impression, WWE will be looking to groom Murphy's character. He could gain more opportunities on SmackDown, which has often been called the land of opportunities. The Red Brand is already stacked with a number of top-tier Superstars, and a brand switch would not be an ideal move for Murphy.

#2 Should move to RAW: Randy Orton

The Viper
The Viper

Randy Orton is one of the few names, who has not switched brands since the re-introduction of the brand split in 2016. Therefore, Orton should be a front runner to swap brands in the next draft. 'The Viper' could face fresh opponents, if he moves to RAW.

Orton recently had an outstanding rivalry with current WWE Champion Kofi Kingston. The two Superstars locked horns at SummerSlam and Clash of Champions. While their SummerSlam bout didn't have a winner, Kingston earned a clean victory over Orton at Clash of Champions. The feud ended there, as Brock Lesnar entered the WWE Title picture.

Being an elite Superstar, the thirteen-time WWE Champion could be a great inclusion for the Red Brand. Considering Orton has never received the opportunity to challenge for the Universal Championship, he could chase RAW's most coveted prize.

#1 Shouldn't move to RAW: Finn Balor

Balor
Balor

Former NXT Champion Finn Balor is part of SmackDown Live, having switched brands in the last draft. The former Universal Champion had a three-year stint on the Red Brand, as he was drafted to RAW in 2016. While he had a decent run on RAW, Balor is expected to reach his full potential on SmackDown.

Balor's last match was at SummerSlam, where he wrestled The Fiend. There is no doubt that The Fiend made an impressive debut, easily vanquishing Balor. Since the match at SummerSlam, Balor has not been seen on WWE TV.

When Balor does make his inevitable return to the squared circle, he will hope to make a mark on SmackDown with the aim of becoming SmackDown's top Superstar.

#1 Should move to RAW: Ali

Ali
Ali

Without a shadow of a doubt, Ali is one of the most underrated Superstars on the Blue Brand. Despite being in a number of outstanding matches on the main roster, Ali has not been able to reach the top of the ladder. A brand switch could be highly advantageous for the former Cruiserweight Champion, allowing him to propel to the very top of RAW's championship scene.

While Ali has never been a primary contender for the WWE Championship, he has been chasing the Intercontinental Championship for awhile, but is yet to win the belt. The high-flyer has recently rekindled his rivalry with Nakamura, and the two men may clash at Hell in a Cell.

RAW has a bigger roster and the Red Brand's high flyers are doing exceptionally well. Ricochet and Cedric Alexander have been impressive since becoming part of the Red Brand, and Ali could be another notable addition.
