3 storylines that can continue beyond Survivor Series

Did Daniel Bryan let The Fiend in?
Did Daniel Bryan let The Fiend in?

RAW and SmackDown are currently getting great competition from NXT. The developmental brand has upped its game, and they are the ones in the forefront as Survivor Series gets closer. Triple H and his Black & Yellow brand have built the hype around the brand versus brand show, and we all want to tune in to the weekly shows to see what NXT will do next.

It is no coincidence that NXT attacked the RAW roster this week, and SmackDown was also put on notice with the attack by Shayna Baszler. NXT fired the first shot and took everyone by surprise when they invaded SmackDown while a large number of Superstars were stuck in Saudi Arabia and couldn't make it to SmackDown in time to save their brand.

The attack on RAW saw retaliation from The OC, who invaded the Black & Yellow brand on Wednesday and took on Tomasso Ciampa, Matt Riddle, and Keith Lee in a six-man tag team match. The build to the brand versus brand (versus brand) show is gaining a lot of momentum, and here are three things that can continue once Surivor Series has come and gone.

#3 The Fiend and Daniel Bryan Get Involved In A Championship Match

The leader of the Yes Movement, Daniel Bryan, has been without a rival for quite a few weeks, but that changed on the most recent episode of SmackDown. During his backstage segment with Sami Zayn, the former WWE Champion was confronted by The Fiend. This attack could be the start of a great storyline, and while Daniel may or may not be able to defeat The Fiend, this is a storyline that can make a stop at Survivor Series and then keep moving as the calendar year comes to a close, and maybe beyond.

Daniel Bryan is one of the best technical and in-ring performers in the company. He, along with quite possibly the best character in the wrestling business today can put on a clinic between the ropes and can wage a convincing verbal battle as well. This is something that every wrestling fan would love to watch and will be a treat every week.

#2 Becky Lynch and Shayna Baszler go head to head

The fact that this year's Survivor Series has the newly minted third brand involved has raised the stakes of the matches. Becky Lynch has faced Bayley on various occasions, however, The Man has never faced current NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler. The two came face to face when the RAW Women's Champion was discussing her strategy and sharing her insights, heading into this match.

While the two did not exchange blows, they will let everything loose soon, probably before their match at Survivor Series. The fans will be in for a treat during the upcoming episodes of RAW and possibly even NXT. A fight between two wonderful wrestlers will only help the current NXT Women's Champion, who would have a good push by her side if she decides to move from the developmental brand to the main roster.

Shayna and Becky may not continue mixing it up immediately after Survivor Series, but if and when they meet again when Shayna leaves NXT to make room for new Superstars, The Man and the Queen of Spades will absolutely tear it up all over the world.

#1 Dio Maddin gets involved with Brock Lesnar

Dio Maddin has been good behind the desk on Monday nights as part of the new commentary team for RAW. The former wrestler has yet to compete on the main roster, and it may be about time that he steps away from the commentary desk and between the ropes.

It is not necessarily required that he steps up to fight Brock Lesnar, but with Cain Velasquez currently out of action due to an injury, Dio Maddin could serve as a more than suitable replacement. He is a wrestler that hasn't seen any in-ring action in months, but with his considerable size, he matches up well when face-to-face with Lesnar and under the tutelage of the legendary Mexican Superstar, he can work as a friend and protector for Rey Mysterio and his son.

While it may sound like an out of the box option, the fact that Dio can pose a threat to Brock can't be ruled out. We have seen the company give inexperienced wrestlers strong pushes up the card with limited build many times, and Dio may very well be next in line.
