3 Things RAW got right this week (October 21st)

With only a week and a half to go before Crown Jewel, this week's episode of RAW was fun and chaotic in some ways. Though nothing stood out, it's clear that they are focusing on new talents and the future of the brand.

There were no women's matches on the show this week. Lana and Zelina Vega were the only women on the entire show, as most of the high profile women had other obligations to fulfill. Therefore, we saw many men get opportunities that they normally wouldn't get.

We saw the RAW in-ring debuts of former 205 Live star Humberto Carrillo and former NXT Tag Team Champions, The Street Profits. There was also a return during the main event, which set up the next feud for the United States Championship.

With that said, let's look at three things that made RAW great this week.

#3 Quality matches

Today's WWE product is weak and not comparable to the product of yesteryear. The stories and characters aren't as compelling as they once were, but it's not a doubt that today's roster is very strong in terms of the actual wrestling. Being home to some of the best wrestlers in the world, the company has the potential to showcase good matches every week.

This week's episode saw Andrade take on the returning Sin Cara in what was a fun match. They merged well and told a decent story with Zelina Vega getting involved to give the win to Andrade. It looks like they are building Andrade for something big.

Another match that was great on the show was between the Universal Champion Seth Rollins and debutant Humberto Carrillo. Even though the crowd was pretty silent during the match, the two men put on a thrilling match. Rollins was the victor, but Carrillo showcased his impressive skill-set.

#2 Drew McIntyre's return

"The Scottish Psychopath" Drew McIntyre made his return to WWE this week after spending time away due to injuries. Ric Flair came out to talk about the Team Flair vs. Team Hogan match at Crown Jewel and introduced McIntyre as the final member of his team.

For a long time, WWE underutilized Drew and relegated him to bodyguard duty for both Shane McMahon and Dolph Ziggler. Despite having all the talent in the world and the looks of a Superstar, he has struggled to sustain any momentum. To make matters worse, he missed time due to injury.

Thankfully, he was back on RAW and faced Ricochet. McIntyre won the match as expected with the Claymore Kick to make a statement. WWE will book him strongly heading into Crown Jewel, which will spice things up at the PPV. Up until now, fans expected Team Hogan to win, but with the addition of Drew McIntyre, it wouldn't be surprising if Team Flair wins.

#1 Street Profits in the main event

The Street Profits have been appearing on RAW for months in hilarious backstage skits with several other wrestlers, but they made their in-ring debut this week on RAW. After being attacked by The OC last week, a match was set up between The OC and The Street Profits with a partner of their choice.

However, the match was changed to a standard tag team match as the mystery partner was revealed only in the last few minutes. Coming to the match, Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford showed insane charisma and ability and put on a fun match. They were over with the crowd who seemed to love the smoke.

In the end, Kevin Owens came out to attack AJ Styles, which allowed Dawkins and Ford to pick up the victory. This was the best way to close out this week's show, and WWE did a great job of showcasing The Street Profits.
