On the one night of the year where SmackDown and RAW go head to head for brand supremacy, the stakes have been raised this year with NXT joining the action. This Sunday, WWE will be live on the WWE Network from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois with Survivor Series. Even though it has lost some of its lure in the past few years, Survivor Series is still one of WWE’s “Big Four” pay-per-views and one of the most anticipated events on the WWE calendar.

There will be three World Title matches on the show, as Brock Lesnar will defend the WWE Championship against Rey Mysterio in a feud that has gotten extremely personal. For the SmackDown side, The Fiend will defend his newly won Universal Championship against Daniel Bryan. Finally, for the first time ever, the NXT Championship will be defended on a main roster event as Adam Cole will defend against the winner of a Triple Threat match that will happen Saturday night at NXT TakeOver: WarGames between Pete Dunne, Damian Priest, and Killian Dain.

With several exciting matches contributing to a stacked card, we take a look at 3 things that can happen at Survivor Series 2019.

3) Shayna Baszler will be NXT's best chance at winning a match

Out of all of the matches on this Sunday’s card, the match that gives NXT the best chance at winning is most likely going to be the Women’s Triple Threat match between Becky Lynch, Bayley, and Shayna Baszler.

While it wouldn’t be surprising if NXT won one of the Traditional Survivor Series tag team matches, it feels like that wouldn’t cause as big of a splash as opposed to the NXT Women's Champion beating two of the Four Horsewomen. Fans have been waiting for the Four Horsewomen to take on the Four MMA Horsewomen, headed by Baszler and Ronda Rousey, for ages now. While we still haven’t gotten that match yet, a win for Baszler here would open a lot of eyes.

There is also AJ Styles v. Shinsuke Nakamura v. Roderick Strong, which is an early contender for match of the night, but that match has had no build at all and feels like a throwaway match.

While a victory over Lynch would be huge for the Queen of Spades, WWE is most likely going to save that for when Baszler is full time on the main roster and on a bigger show like WrestleMania, so Bayley is most likely going to take the pin or tap out to Baszler come Sunday night.

2) The Fiend will make Daniel Bryan his next victim

After finally defeating Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship last month at Crown Jewel, The Fiend has moved on to his next target in the form of former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan.

The interesting thing about this match is that it was not the original plan. According to Dave Meltzer, The Miz was originally going to be The Fiend's opponent at Survivor Series, which was likely going to be set up on the MizTV the day after Crown Jewel before the issues overseas. Bryan, on the other hand, was going to win the Intercontinental Championship and face AJ Styles and Roderick Strong.

The story here is that both men are “mentally unstable”, with Bray Wyatt and The Fiend being split personalities and Bryan being a tweener at the moment and at a crossroads. Bryan isn’t his “Planet’s Champion” self as of late, but he also isn’t back to his “Yes Movement” ways either.

This should be one of the better matches on the show, as Wyatt had one of his better matches on the main roster against Bryan at the Royal Rumble a few years ago. The Fiend will be Universal Champion for the long haul, most likely holding the Universal title until WrestleMania. However, the question is will this be a one-off match, or will Bryan and The Fiend continue to feud after Sunday? Also, will this feud result in Bryan going back to being a clear babyface?

1) Dominic costing Rey Mysterio against Brock Lesnar

After his convincing victory over Cain Velasquez at Crown Jewel, Brock Lesnar has moved over to the RAW brand and will take on Rey Mysterio this Sunday for the WWE Championship.

This match has been brewing since the season premiere of RAW, where Lesnar attacked Mysterio and his son Dominic before Rey Mysterio’s Universal Championship match against Seth Rollins. After another beatdown at the hands of Lesnar, Mysterio finally struck back and attacked Lesnar with a chair and pipe on multiple occasions.

This past Monday on RAW, it was announced that Lesnar v. Mysterio will now be a no holds barred match, which leads one to expect that we may see the return of Dominic Mysterio. One would think that he has recovered from his “injuries” from the Lesnar beatdown and the 'No Holds Barred' rules would allow him to get involved.

However, whether it be intentional or unintentional, Dominic will cost his father the WWE Championship this Sunday. Either way, WWE could be building towards a father-son feud leading to a match, possibly at WrestleMania. The story could be that Dominic blames Rey for putting him in a situation where he could be in danger from Lesnar and that is exactly what happened.
