3 Things that shouldn't happen on SmackDown this week (6th December 2019)

WWE develops several storylines during the course of a show. Some things develop exactly like the fans want, while some of them fail to hit the mark. This week's SmackDown has many things in store and it will set the record straight as far as TLC is concerned.

This week's RAW wasn't great, to say the least. It had many segments that felt like filler. One of the disadvantages of RAW is that it is a three-hour show, which makes it highly difficult for every segment to make sense. But SmackDown is two hours long, hence the Blue brand doesn't really have any excuses for being bad.

Last week's show was all about The Fiend Bray Wyatt but this week, it will most probably be a bit different. Because The Fiend is the type of character that should appear only when he has to. This week, we could see a show more concentrated on what is happening in the mid-card and the SmackDown Women's Championship.

On that note, here we are going to take a look at the three things that shouldn't happen on the Blue brand this week:

#3 No new challenger for the Intercontinental Championship

Nakamura shows off the new Intercontinental Championship

If you look closely, The United States Championship is the best thing about RAW right now but in contrast, the Intercontinental Championship is starting to lose its meaning on SmackDown. The main reason for that is the lack of title defenses from Shinsuke Nakamura.

Hence, WWE needs to give the WWE Universe a hint on who is going to be the next challenger for the Intercontinental Championship. If Nakamura doesn't defend his championship at TLC, then the Intercontinental Title will start losing its meaning. With Sheamus returning last week, one can say that the Celtic Warrior will be the perfect fit for a challenger.

#2 Roman Reigns vs Dolph Ziggler

One of the things that the fans have been very negative about is Roman Reigns' feud with Baron Corbin. The reason for all the critical examinations has been the predictable booking throughout the feud.

Last week, we saw Roman Reigns vs Robert Roode, which ended up in a Reigns win and Roode & Dolph Ziggler getting destroyed by The Big Dog. What WWE shouldn't do this week is book Roman Reigns vs Dolph Ziggler.

This would be a very predictable booking decision and a match not many in the WWE Universe would even care to watch. If WWE wants to go ahead with Reigns vs Corbin for TLC, they should rather have a promo segment or even a contract signing. That would really get the fans invested in this feud. They could even have a proper slugfest among the four Superstars. Not having Reigns vs Ziggler on Friday night is best for business.

#1 Elias working as a heel

As the WWE Universe witnessed last week, Elias returned to SmackDown with the same gimmick but maybe a different feel. The way his return was planned was also great, to be honest as Dana Brooke also got some much-needed screen time through it.

WWE might have even teased an on-screen pairing between Brooke and Elias through last week's segment. This week on SmackDown, we expect Elias to make his in-ring return. But it would be great for him to work as a face for once.

Elias has worked as a heel for a while now and that hasn't gotten him anywhere, so maybe a face turn could do him a world of good. There were no suggestions during last week's segment whether he was a face or heel, hence, we can only hope that this week we will see a babyface Elias.
