3 Things WWE could be planning for this week's SmackDown (6 December 2019)

SmackDown sure made for an exciting watch last week, with as many as three Superstar returning to the show, a couple of good matches, and just the right publicity for TLC.

Amongst the returnees was former WWE Champion Sheamus, making his first appearance after recovering from an injury. Alexa Bliss and Elias were the other two Superstars returning to the ring.

The Fiend Bray Wyatt introduced the WWE Universe to his 'new' (read: design rehashed) Universal Championship and hinted at renewing his feud with Daniel Bryan, taking down the latter under the ring with him at the end of the show. Sasha Banks, à la Seth Rollins some time back, dissed the performance of the SmackDown women at Survivor Series but was confronted by Lacey Evans, also a part of Team SmackDown at the PPV.

Talking about PPVs, WWE is yet to get a word out regarding its schedule for TLC. One of the many speculations doing the rounds is that the Blue Brand will be letting something out regarding that on Friday.

Here, we discuss three other things WWE could possibly be planning for SmackDown this week:

#3 Lacey Evans takes on Sasha Banks

A new challenger for SmackDown Women's Championship was indicated last week when Lacey Evans confronted Bayley and Sasha Banks - both of whom participated at the Survivor Series but couldn't win their respective matches. Banks, who led Team SmackDown in the 5-on-5-on-5 elimination match, blamed the other four women for the loss until she was interrupted by the Sassy Southern Belle.

Evans made a bold statement last week, taking out Banks with her signature move, Woman's Right. Bayley, even though was right there, could do nothing about it, probably still rattled by her loss at Survivor Series. The feud could progress further if Banks locks horns with Evans after the assault. A match between the two women could allow Banks to avenge the previous attack. Evans, on the other hand, could earn a title shot against Bayley at TLC if she manages to defeat the four-time RAW Women's Champion.

#2 Sheamus attacks Shorty G

Upon his return to WWE last week, Sheamus delivered a spectacular backstage segment, taking a shot at the entire SmackDown locker room. He called the Blue Brand, which earlier used to be the 'land of opportunities', pathetic and went on to call the Superstars 'soft'. Taking the promo into consideration, it is certain that the former WWE Champion is returning as a heel.

Before Sheamus got injured eight months ago, he was a bad guy and one-half of The Bar. As the Celtic Warrior is likely to continue as a heel, he is expected to go after a top babyface. While there are several good guys capable of producing a good feud with him, Shorty G could be a great choice, considering the former mentioned the latter in his promo last week and made fun of his new name.

The former American Alpha man has been booked well in recent months, and WWE certainly has big plans for him. Sheamus also needs to take on a noteworthy name to make a fresh start as a singles competitor. Following the promo last week, the Irishman could show up on the Blue Brand this week, attacking Shorty G.

#1 Daniel Bryan reveals a new look

Bray Wyatt was the focal point of SmackDown last week, delivering multiple segments throughout the duration of the show. Continuing his rivalry with Daniel Bryan, it is certain that the two men will face off again in a rematch. While Bray Wyatt hosted two segments of Firefly Fun House, The Fiend closed the show, shocking everyone with another attack on a helpless Bryan.

The five-time WWE Champion had brought back the 'Yes Movement', one of the primary reasons for his meteoric rise to the top, earlier in the show. When The Fiend sabotaged Bryan with a Mandible Claw last week, the latter was dragged under the ring. Another interesting observation from the segment was that some of Bryan's hair was seen clasped in The Fiend's hands.

Given the circumstances, it is possible that the former may be getting a new look following his face turn. It will be interesting to see whether this possibility turns into reality.
