3 things WWE got wrong on this week's RAW and 2 things they got right (March 4th, 2019)

Another edition of WWE Monday Night RAW is in the bag and this is certainly one to remember.

Taking place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the men and women aimed to prove themselves in the city of brotherly love just six days before WWE Fastlane.

The final pit-stop on the road to WrestleMania 35, Fastlane is shaping up to be a huge pay per view, with plenty on the line going into the biggest show of the year.

With so much on the line, the men and women of team red were rightly ready to give it their all tonight, and some of it worked out perfectly.

Here are 3 things the WWE got right on the March 4th, 2019 edition of Monday Night RAW, as well as two things that could have been a whole lot better.

2: Got it right: Ronda Rousey's heel turn

Rousey brutalized The Man ahead of Lynch's huge match with Charlotte Flair at Fastlane.

The RAW Women's Champion is officially heel, and for many fans, it is a long time coming.

After throwing down the title last week, Stephanie McMahon was ready to have Becky Lynch face Charlotte Flair for the vacant title until Rousey made her return.

Demolishing Becky Lynch in the ring, the former UFC star confirmed her heel turn, after weeks of being booed.

Whilst she may have been primarily booed for the crime of not being Becky Lynch in their feud, it's great to see the WWE embrace the natural heat that Rousey has had since joining the company.

At Fastlane, Lynch and Flair will face off, though if Lynch wins, it will be a triple threat match at WrestleMania, something many fans are certainly hoping for.

3: Got it wrong: The same 6-man tag match

The trio impressed this week on RAW, but where exactly is this storyline heading?
The trio impressed this week on RAW, but where exactly is this storyline heading?

Baron Corbin. Drew McIntyre. Bobby Lashley. All three men are competent Superstars. All three men quickly held gold on the main roster in their WWE debuts.

And all three men have been left wallowing in this bizarre stable that has accomplished very little.

Taking on Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor, Braun Strowman and Kurt Angle this week, it was great to see the Olympian back in the ring, though this match had very little going for it.

It is genuinely strange to see just how different things were a few months ago. Strowman was seemingly being positioned to be the next top face on RAW, following Roman Reigns' departure, and McIntyre the next top heel.

Now, both men are struggling to stay relevant just weeks away from WrestleMania.

2: Got it wrong: The SNL skits

The SNL duo were welcomed to RAW by Stephanie McMahon.

Celebrity appearances done well in WWE are a very rare thing, but last night the WWE tried to roll the dice and hope they got lucky.

Bringing in Michael Che and Colin Jost from Saturday Night Live, the two aimed to bring their own unique brand of comedy to RAW, though it mostly came off as cringy.

Perhaps it was because few fans knew who they were, as whilst SNL may be a huge show in the United States, the vast majority of fans (myself included), had never heard of the pair before last night.

And this won't be the last time we see the two, who were announced as guest correspondents for WrestleMania 35.

WrestleMania has always been a mix between wrestling and pop-culture, so hopefully, things will be better on the show of shows.

1: Got it wrong: Where's the Animal?

The Animal was nowhere to be seen.
The Animal was nowhere to be seen.

Last week's edition of Monday Night RAW ended in a truly shocking manner.

As Ric Flair was out celebrating his 70th birthday, the festivities were interrupted by Batista, a fellow member of Evolution.

Dismantling the Nature Boy backstage, Batista certainly made everyone pay attention, including his old mentor and student of Flair, Triple H.

This week, the Animal was nowhere to be seen.

It does seem strange that last week's RAW would end on such a cliffhanger, followed by nothing the next week from the Animal, though we did get a fantastic Triple H promo

I understand that Batista, being a huge movie star, has a busy schedule, though even a quick 30-second video on the titantron would've been something to keep this story fresh.

Hopefully, the Animal will make his presence known next week on Monday Night RAW.

1: Got it right: The brothers ride again

The team of Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns are on the same page, for now.

There has perhaps never been a trio more dominant in WWE than the Shield

Debuting at Survivor Series 2012, the group of Rollins, Ambrose, and Reigns were a united front, until greed took over the Architect, who disbanded the group in June 2014.

And whilst the hounds of justice have reunited on occasion in the past, their reunion this week on RAW may prove to be the most exciting.

Back on the same page (for the time being) the trio's return is bad news for everyone on RAW, even Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, who is scheduled to face Rollins at WrestleMania and has had issues in the past with all three men.

Ambrose's impending departure means they may not last long together, so enjoy it while you can.
