3 Things WWE hinted at on SmackDown this week (November 8th, 2019)

The new SmackDown Tag Team Champions

From a major title change to another NXT invasion, SmackDown produced a few exciting segments, taking one more step towards Survivor Series, which is just two weeks away. Tyson Fury, who made his WWE debut at Crown Jewel, also made a special appearance on SmackDown, as the show was held in his hometown of Manchester in the United Kingdom.

The New Day won the Tag Team Titles for a record seventh time, beating The Revival to earn themselves a spot in the upcoming PPV. Besides the SmackDown Tag Team Championship match, two more tag team matches took place, as Dana Brooke and Carmella earned a victory over Fire & Desire and the team of Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura beat Ali and Shorty G.

NXT Women's Champion, Shayna Baszler ambushed Bayley again after Sasha Banks' victory over Nikki Cross, while when Sami Zayn and Daniel Bryan were involved in a backstage segment, The Fiend interrupted and attacked the latter.

In the main event of the night, King Corbin and Roman Reigns squared off, with the 2019 King of the Ring winnerultimately claiming a win over the Big Dog. In this article, we have a look at three things WWE could have indicated on, through this week's episode of SmackDown.

#3 Daniel Bryan is next in the line to face The Fiend

When The Fiend took the Universal Title away from Seth Rollins, it seemed as if the rivalry was done and dusted in Saudi Arabia. Fans were left wondering as to who the company would pit against The Fiend next, and the question was answered on SmackDown this week, when the Universal Champion attacked Daniel Bryan in a backstage sement.

Bryan, who wasn't part of Crown Jewel, turned face a few weeks ago, bringing back his signature Yes Movement. Bryan also teamed up with the biggest babyface of the Blue Brand, Roman Reigns and with Bryan fresh off a character change, it makes perfect sense to have a feud with the alter ego of Bray Wyatt.

The world champions of both brands usually collide at Survivor Series to prove brand supremacy, but it will not happen this year, considering Brock Lesnar will take on Rey Mysterio. It is certainly a wise move, as neither The Fiend nor Lesnar can afford to lose this quickly after winning their respective titles.

#2 Shinsuke Nakamura will not have a singles match at Survivor Series

Having confronted Daniel Bryan in the last couple of weeks, it looked like Shinsuke Nakamura would be in line to build a feud with the former, but The Fiend's attack on Bryan has now waned the possibility of a Nakamura-Bryan storyline.

Considering Nakamura's next opponent wasn't revealed on SmackDown this week, he could have a match against other mid-card champions to prove brand supremacy at Survivor Series.

Nakamura didn't put the title on the line at Crown Jewel, where he was part of Team Flair. After missing SmackDown last week, he participated in a tag team battle on SmackDown this week. Teaming up with Cesaro, Nakamura picked up a victory for his team and in the process pocketed some much-needed momentum before Survivor Series.

While the Intercontinental Champion generally locks horns with the US Champion in a one-on-one match at Survivor Series, it might turn out to be different this year. Since The O.C. invaded NXT and assaulted The Undisputed Era this week, it could lead to a triple threat match between The Intercontinental Champion, the US Champion, and the NXT North American Champion, Roderick Strong.

A match between Roderick Strong, AJ Styles, and Nakamura will be a dream fight for the fans, and it has the potential of stealing the show.

#1 The New Day's SmackDown Tag Team Title win will make the tag team match unpredictable at Survivor Series

SmackDown's Tag Team Titles changed hands on the Blue Brand this week, as The New Day defeated The Revival. Winning the Tag Team Titles for the seventh time, The New Day will represent the tag team division of the Blue Brand at Survivor Series.

With the addition of The New Day, the match should generate more interest, considering the popularity of the stable. The Viking Raiders, who are the RAW Tag Team Champions, are one of the most destructive tag teams of the company. The Undisputed Era are also invincible on NXT, but The Revival looked like a weak link in the match, making them an obvious choice to take the pin at Survivor Series.

However, The New Day have a different stature, and given that now there are two fan-favorite tag teams in The New Day and the Viking Raiders locked in the battle for supremacy, it remains to be seen as to which team stands tall with the win.
