3 Things WWE made clear on RAW this week (21 October 2019)

RAW delivered another solid show
RAW delivered another solid show

Cleveland hosted RAW this week, and the Red brand produced one hell of a show. While last week's RAW featured several astounding bouts, things only intensified this week, showing further improvement in the product.

The RAW roster is set after the draft, and the flagship show is certainly making an effort to build up their new roster. Aleister Black and Andrade were two Superstars who competed again this week, and both won their respective matches. Furthermore, Humberto Carrillo made an emphatic statement with an outstanding performance against Universal Champion Seth Rollins. The Street Profits had a dream in-ring debut, as they main evented the show.

The three-hour show was entertaining with some twists. Let's analyze three things WWE made clear on RAW this week.

#3 Becky Lynch needs to wait longer to find out her next opponent

While RAW had some great matches, there was no women's match this week. Neither the Women's Tag Team Champions, nor the RAW Women's Champion made an appearance. That was certainly quite the surprise.

RAW rejuvenated their Women's Division in the draft. Some significant names left for the Blue brand, while a couple of new names also arrived on RAW. Besides Asuka, Kairi Sane, Charlotte Flair, and Liv Morgan all became new members of the Red brand.

The rivalry between Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks ended, as the latter was drafted to SmackDown. As a result, Lynch should get a new challenger for the RAW Women's Championship. Given there is no woman's bout scheduled at Crown Jewel, Lynch needs to wait longer to find out who her next challenger is. There is a possibility that Charlotte Flair could be in line to start a new feud with Lynch, especially considering they already wrestled one another last week on RAW.

#2 Kevin Owens will be AJ Styles' next challenger

A huge tag team match took place on RAW, as The Street Profits debuted this week. Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford faced Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in their first match on the main roster. The former NXT Tag Team Champions delivered an impressive performance, defeating Gallows & Anderson.

The Street Profits were supposed to bring in a mystery partner, but things didn't go according to plan. As a result, The OC had a numbers advantage and AJ Styles tried to influence the outcome of the tag team match. However, 'The Phenomenal One' was confronted by Kevin Owens, who delivered a stunner to Styles, making it easier for The Street Profits to pick up the victory.

Owens was technically the mystery partner, as he joined hands with The Street Profits. Since Owens attacked Styles, it is clear that 'The Prize Fighter' will be the next challenger for the United States Championship. It is certainly a wise move to put Owens in the title picture, especially considering he is a top star with the company, and definitely needs to keep his momentum after ending his rivalry with Shane McMahon. It will be interesting to see whether Styles and Owens will wrestle for the United States Championship at the upcoming Crown Jewel pay-per-view.

#1 Shelton Benjamin will play a crucial role in the WWE Championship storyline

Rey Mysterio returned to RAW for the first time since the brutal beat down by Brock Lesnar, who decimated the three-time WWE Champion and his son Dominic. While Mysterio was there to talk about the upcoming match between Cain Velasquez and Brock Lesnar, he was interrupted by Lesnar's advocate, Paul Heyman. Shelton Benjamin also confronted Mysterio, but Cain Velasquez came out to the rescue.

The storyline has taken an interesting turn with the addition of Shelton Benjamin. Given Benjamin has not been on TV regularly, it is certainly a good opportunity for him to get involved in a major storyline. Benjamin and Lesnar have a close association, as they were tag team partners in OVW. Furthermore, they also trained together as amateur wrestlers in Minnesota. This was mentioned by Benjamin on RAW.

Shelton Benjamin made it clear that he will be part of the WWE Championship storyline heading forward. It wouldn't be a surprise, if he stays ringside at Crown Jewel, inevitably influencing the bout's outcome.
