3 Things WWE subtly told us by booking Brock Lesnar vs Rey Mysterio for the WWE Championship at Survivor Series

The past week has produced some top notch WWE action, as the WWE Universe has been treated to something fresh and new on every show this week. From Crown Jewel to Monday Night RAW, the thing to love about the build to Survivor Series so far has been the unpredictability related to the Tri-Brand faceoff. Anything can happen at any given point in time and the Survivor Series card is building up to something incredible.

One match that was added to the Survivor Series card this week on RAW was a WWE Championship bout between Brock Lesnar and Rey Mysterio. This is a continuation of what transpired at Crown Jewel, as Mysterio gave Lesnar quite the beating after his victory over Cain Velasquez. Mysterio got the better of Lesnar again this week on RAW, as he battered the WWE Champion with a pipe.

In this article, we are going to take a look at three things WWE subtly told us by making the Survivor Series match between Lesnar and Mysterio official.

#3 WWE Creative is trying to book dream matches for Survivor Series

There is a reason why fans clamor for Survivor Series each and every year
There is a reason why fans clamor for Survivor Series each and every year

So far, there are three confirmed matches for the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view. These include Brock Lesnar vs Rey Mysterio for the WWE Championship, Becky Lynch vs Shayna Baszler vs Bayley in a Triple Threat Match, and The Viking Raiders vs Undisputed Era (Kyle O' Reilly and Bobby Fish) vs The Revival in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match.

Just think about the aforementioned bouts and ponder the incredible action the WWE Universe will witness in these three matches alone. The Women's Triple Threat Match and the Triple Threat Tag Team Match are bonafide dream matches and the same can definitely be said about Rey Mysterio vs Brock Lesnar.

Brock Lesnar and Rey Mysterio are two of wrestling's all-time legends and are sure to one day be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Their size difference and contrasting styles make the bout even more interesting, as the two get set for fantasy warfare that is typical for a WWE video game. To see this bout in real life is truly nothing short of a dream.

Survivor Series is all about dream matches, at least that's what WWE is trying to tell us in how their currently booking November's big pay-per-view.

#2 Vince McMahon wants Brock Lesnar vs Cain Velasquez, Round 2

The Crown Jewel match between Cain Velasquez and Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship had an MMA feel to it with both competitors exchanging punches before Lesnar made Velasquez tap out. The ending seemed like a good decision, as it played to each competitor's strengths and reminded fans that this feud had its beginnings in the UFC.

It would be safe to assume that Paul Heyman and Vince McMahon were thrilled with the way the match progressed, so much so that a rematch between Lesnar and Velasquez should be in the cards once Velasquez recovers from injury.

For that to happen, Velasquez has to be a part of the WWE Championship picture by the time he returns. Velasquez needs to be remembered while he is away and not forgotten. Rey Mysterio's continued feud with Brock Lesnar allows that to happen. That might be a possible reason why WWE went ahead with Mysterio vs Lesnar, so that they can continue with the Mysterio Family vs 'The Beast Incarnate' storyline for the foreseeable future.

The feud is almost certain to build to something even bigger and WWE has been patiently escalating things so far, but Rey Mysterio might just be a bridge to Lesnar vs Velasquez 2.

#1 The Fiend is the most protected Superstar in the company right now

The Fiend
The Fiend

This might just be the biggest thing WWE told us by not booking Brock Lesnar vs The Fiend for the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view. After a controversial finish at Hell in a Cell, The Fiend finally accomplished his mission by defeating Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship at Crown Jewel. Still, it took a lot to get there and booking Fiend matches proved difficult for WWE Creative.

WWE would face the same challenge in booking a Brock Lesnar vs The Fiend bout. Who would come out victorious? Who would come out looking strong? Who might lose momentum in the process? Deciding an outcome for a potential match between The Fiend and Lesnar could have provided WWE Creative with a massive headache.

Vince McMahon is seemingly very high on The Fiend and does not intend to make him look weak right now, especially when his momentum is high. Going by that notion, we may get a clearer picture on who The Fiend's next target will be when he appears this Friday Night on SmackDown. One thing is certain: it won't be Brock Lesnar.
