The recent month has been a roller coaster ride for both WWE and the fans. From Roman Reigns' departure due to illness, to Becky Lynch getting replaced in a dream match against Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series due to a gruesome injury, it has been an eventful two months in WWE.

On top of that, keeping in mind the recent heel turn of Daniel Bryan, plus Charlotte Flair and the major main event push for Drew McIntyre, it would not be wrong to say that things are moving thick and fast in WWE.

On another note, it is that time of year when WWE starts planning the WrestleMania card, and go on building it in the following months, starting from Royal Rumble. Given Roman Reigns was the poster boy of WWE, and was main eventing WrestleMania for the past few occasions, his departure has left WWE reeling.

However, the hopes of creative took a major blow when Triple H injured himself at Crown Jewel, possibly ruling himself out of a rumoured clash with The Animal, Batista. Also, the unfortunate injury of Becky Lynch forced WWE to give away a potential WrestleMania main event match-up between Rousey and Charlotte at Survivor Series.

Thus, it would not be wrong to say that recent events have left WWE with limited options for the main event of WrestleMania 35.

So lets look at 3 matches which could main-event WrestleMania 35 after the recent turn of events.

#3 Drew McIntyre vs Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship

Lately WWE has been building up Drew McIntyre for a huge main-event push. After Roman's departure, it seems Vince is considering McIntyre as the next big thing, and is building him up to be the new face of the company.

Given his phenomenal work inside the ring, The Scottish Psychopath deserves every bit of it. Thus, WWE may have him win the Royal Rumble in January, and then turn him face on the road to WrestleMania where he could defeat Brock Lesnar to win the Universal Championship and stamp his authority.

#2 The Rock vs Brock Lesnar

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is rumoured to return at WrestleMania for a one-off encounter. Given the recent turn of events, plus according to Skybet's betting odds, The Great One is rumoured to clash with Brock Lesnar in a non title match-up.

Earlier, The Rock was rumoured to win the Royal Rumble and clash with Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 35. However, it completely went off the table after Roman's departure.

On another note, Lesnar is currently the Universal Champion, however he may go on to drop the title in the following months, possibly at Royal Rumble, and then may clash with The Rock in the main event of WrestleMania 35.

The Rock vs Brock Lesnar is not only a dream match, but also a huge money fight, and having it in the main event of WrestleMania next year is the need of the hour.

#1 Batista vs Brock Lesnar

WWE laid the bread-crumbs for a potential Triple H vs Batista match at WrestleMania 35 during SmackDown 1000. However, given The Game is doubtful for WrestleMania next year due to an injury he picked up at Crown Jewel, WWE is left with limited options for The Animal.

Though rumours of The Beast fighting The Rock at WrestleMania have picked up pace lately, the rumours of The Animal vs The Beast for the main event of WrestleMania next year have been making the rounds all over the internet for quite some time now.

Batista's previous match was in fact the main event of WrestleMania 30 where he faced Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton in a triple threat match for the WWE Championship. However, a clash with The Beast Incarnate would not only be a dream match at WrestleMania, but would also be 'best for business'.
