3 ways WWE can make us believe Finn Balor will defeat Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble

Finn Balor is set to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship this Sunday at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.

Whilst a lot of fans want Finn Balor to win, it is far more likely that Brock Lesnar will emerge victorious.

Brock Lesnar has been the most protected Superstar on the entire roster since his WWE return in 2012. He has won 3 world championships in that time. He has only been defeated by five men, and holds at least one victory over each of those men.

The list of men he has defeated reads like a future WWE Hall of Fame - John Cena, Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, Big Show, Kane, Goldberg, CM Punk, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, and The Undertaker. The last name on that list is especially impressive because he first defeated Undertaker by ending his 21-0 undefeated WrestleMania streak.

Finn Balor made his main roster debut with a lot of hype surrounding him. He obviously had potential. It looked as though he would quickly realize that potential when he became the first ever Universal Champion in his first ever pay-per-view match.

Unfortunately, he was forced to relinquish it due to injury, and his has been a tale of "what if" ever since. Even though he has pinned the likes of Seth Rollins, John Cena, and Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar versus Finn Balor looks to be a massive mismatch.

Finn Balor's fans believe he has a chance. I want to believe that he has a chance.

The WWE can help us all believe he is a threat by presenting him the correct way on Monday Night RAW tonight.

Let's take a look at how they can do that.

Paul Heyman Does Paul Heyman Things

Ladies and Gentlemen, his name is PAUL HEYMAN

There is nobody who can sell a match quite like Paul Heyman. He is quite simply put, the very best the business has to offer in that department. Do you know why all of Brock Lesnar's victories seem so big, even when the result looks like a foregone conclusion? Paul Heyman.

Paul Heyman talks up Brock Lesnar's opponents, magnifies their strengths, and builds anticipation for the eventual match. If anybody can sell us on Finn Balor being a legitimate threat to Brock Lesnar's Universal Championship, it is Paul Heyman.

The Demon makes an appearance

Finn Balor is going to be in the fight of his life against Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar is an absolute behemoth. He is more bear than man. He looks like he could swing Finn Balor around with ease. He is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion. And, he enjoys hurting his opponents. Finn Balor is going to Suplex City on Sunday.

He needs to be able to weather the storm. He needs to dig deep and find something extra. Find a secret weapon. Find 'The Demon'. 'The Demon' is Finn Balor's body-paint covered, darker alter ego. 'The Demon' is also undefeated on the WWE main roster, and his victims include Bray Wyatt, Baron Corbin, AJ Styles, and Seth Rollins.

What if 'The Demon' made an appearance on Monday Night RAW? The appearance of 'The Demon' would allow Balor the chance to get into Lesnar's head, and mess with his psyche.

In the lead up to SummerSlam 2016, 'The Demon' made an appearance on RAW and scared the daylights out of Seth Rollins. It established the relatively unknown Balor as a legitimate contender, and built anticipation for their upcoming match.

The same formula could work again.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson show up

Finn Balor has VERY good friends

Finn Balor versus Brock Lesnar is a physical matchup. But Finn Balor, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson against Brock Lesnar? That could get very interesting, and bodes well for fans who want to see Balor win the Universal Championship this Sunday.

What if Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson showed up on Monday Night RAW, and helped Finn Balor beat up Brock Lesnar? They memorably spent 2016 beating up John Cena along with AJ Styles. It is a proven formula.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson are technically Smackdown Live superstars, but it is not as if they are doing anything of note on the show at the moment. A move to Monday Night RAW in order to ally themselves with Finn Balor would not only help build anticipation for this match, but also make them more relevant than they have been in months.

Agree? Disagree? How would you build anticipation for Finn Balor versus Brock Lesnar? Let us know in the comments!
