WWE Hall of Famer Sting aka Steve Borden is widely regarded by many as one of the greatest professional wrestling performers of all time. Over the course of his long and storied career, Sting wrestled for several notable promotions, but is best known for his work in WCW.

After a career that began in 1985, Sting worked for companies such as WCW to TNA, and then finally performed for a couple of years in the WWE, before retiring from the sport in 2016. Considering that, it's obvious that the legendary performer has interacted with other elite names in the business.

Sting has a reputation for being a true gentleman, however, he did have a few real-life clashes with fellow legends in the past. Today, we take a special look at 3 wrestlers Sting is good friends with and 2 he probably doesn't like...

Rey Mysterio is one of the most popular Luchadors in professional wrestling history. Mysterio, just like Sting, performed for WCW during the height of the company's Monday Night ratings war against the WWE.

Sting and Mysterio have been good friends outside the ring for several years now. It's no surprise that both these veterans have an incredible amount of respect for one another, and are beloved by fans worldwide.

#4 Probably doesn't like: Scott Hall

Scott Hall and Sting had their fair share of differences during their WCW days

After wrestling for WCW in 1991 and '92, Scott Hall rose to super-stardom in the WWE with his 'Razor Ramon' gimmick. However, he returned to WCW in the May of 1996, and began performing under his real-name Scott Hall.

Apart from the backstage tension that was caused by former WWE Superstars such as Hall and Kevin Nash coming into WCW, Hall's real life differences with Sting over the years have been well-documented...Thankfully, Hall and Sting seemed to have left their differences behind in recent years...

#3 Friend: Lex Luger

Lex Luger competed in the sport of professional wrestling from 1985 until his retirement in 2006. Luger unfortunately had to deal with a few health issues over the years, and since 2011, he has been utilizing his knowledge and experience in order to help the WWE with their wellness policy.

On the other hand, Sting too works in a non-wrestling ambassador role with the WWE, under a WWE Legends contract. These two beloved veterans of the sport have known each other since the 1980s, and have been great friends ever since.

#2 Probably doesn't like: Kevin Nash

Sting and Kevin Nash were at loggerheads back in WCW

The real life heat between Sting on the one hand, against Scott Hall and Kevin Nash on the other, is said to have began at a WCW house show in Tupelo, Mississippi. Speaking to The Hannibal TV, former WCW talent relations worker, official and ring announcer David Penzer narrated this story which transpired in the 1990s after Hall and Nash left WWE and joined WCW in mid-1996.

Back then the performers used to carry cassettes which had their entrance music. However, at the aforementioned house show in Tupelo, the decision was made to have Hall & Nash enter to a different theme song -- a slow rap and blues number.

The main event of the evening was a tag team match -- Sting & Randy Savage vs. Scott Hall & Kevin Nash. The WCW had impressively sold out the house show -- something they usually failed to do in Tupelo. A goof up in the insertion of the cassette resulted in half an hour being wasted before The Outsiders (Hall & Nash) could make their entrance.

Penzer claims that while backstage, Sting allegedly told Hall & Nash to just make their entrance regardless of the music. Sting allegedly added, 'It's only Tupelo'. Well, Hall & Nash then revealed the same to WCW President Eric Bischoff, who then gave all the WCW talent an earful about not taking any show lightly -- no matter how small the show is.

In the years that followed, Sting had a tense relationship in the professional realm with Hall & Nash. Fortunately, Sting eventually buried the hatchet with both Hall & Nash...

#1 Friend: Ric Flair

Speaking to NBC Elmira, Sting opened up about how Ric Flair played a rather important role in his career. Sting recalled that back in the day when Dusty Rhodes was promoting an event, Flair's opponent got injured.

Rhodes had to find a replacement to face Flair, and the latter was fine when Dusty told him that he'd be facing Sting. At that time, Sting was a young up-and-comer, and the very fact that Flair agreed to face Sting at the very first Clash of the Champions event, shows how much faith 'The Nature Boy' had in the abilities of 'The Icon'.

Flair and Sting went on to have several memorable encounters in the years that ensued. And given how loyal and honorable an individual Sting is, he's always been highly assertive about his gratefulness and friendship towards Flair.

Meanwhile, Flair too has a huge amount of respect for fellow WCW/WWE legend Sting.
