This current bout of illness could have huge implications on TLC this weekend

TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs takes place this weekend live from San Jose, California and it appears that at least one WWE superstar could be struggling to be fit in time for the show.

Follow Sportskeeda for the latest WWE news, rumors and all other wrestling news.

A few years ago, TLC was hit my illness when the likes of Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns were sidelined with mumps and then had to be replaced in their matches on the show but Kurt Angle and AJ Styles. TLC 2018 could be following the same blueprint, but luckily this year it has only affected Finn Balor, who is active on the card this weekend.

Illnesses are just as tough for WWE stars to overcome as injuries since many are unable to be cleared if they are suffering from an illness that they could pass on, or if it's compromising their immune system.

#3 Mandy Rose

Mandy Rose missed SmackDown Live this week reportedly because of a mystery illness

SmackDown General Manager Paige recently announced that Mandy Rose would take on Naomi on SmackDown Live this past week, but eagle-eyed viewers noted that the match didn't actually take place as part of this weeks show.

Paige stated that this was because The Miz went out to the ring and made a match of his own, which took up the time planned for the women so they were unable to have their match, but CageSideSeats are reporting that Mandy Rose is actually struggling with illness.

Their daily round up points to illness as the reason why Rose was unable to wrestle this week on SmackDown Live, but Paige did note that the issues between Naomi and Rose are not over, which means that if she's cleared in time then Rose could face Naomi next week on Smackdowninstead.

#2 Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss hasn't had a great run of health over the past few months stemming all the way back to Hell in a Cell when she suffered an arm injury and was later diagnosed with a concussion.

It was only days go that Bliss was finally cleared for in-ring competition after being seen as the front-runner for the job as Raw General Manager if Baron Corbin loses his match against Braun Strowman this weekend, but The Goddess recently updated her Instagram to show that she had also been struck down by illness.

Bliss isn't part of this weekend's TLC event, which could be because she hasn't wrestled a match on WWE TV since Hell in a Cell.

It was thought that she would be part of a backstage segment with Baron Corbin ahead of the Raw Women's Championship match, but this may not be possible now.

#1 Finn Balor

One of the most worrying illnesses on this list os Finn Balor, the former Universal Champion was sent home from the South American tour earlier this week and wasn't part of Monday Night Raw the following night since the commentary team noted that he was dealing with injuries.

PWInsider later revealed that it was an illness that Balor was struggling with and that he will now have to be cleared to return to physical competition before Sunday night if his match with Drew McIntyre is given the green light.

Balor was even replaced in the Mixed Match Challenge this week, which shows that WWE is taking this illness seriously, but many reports now suggest that The Demon King is expected to be cleared in time for the show so that he can continue his feud with Drew McIntyre on pay-per-view.
