Professional Wrestling is a demanding job, and the body takes a lot of punishments. The WWE superstars have a hectic schedule, as they are on the road for over 300 days. As a result, it takes a toll on the body, and the age slows down the performance in the squared circle.

WWE has many new talented wrestlers, but several veterans are still active in the ring. Numerous WWE superstars have been wrestling for decades. Some legendary superstars occasionally fight, while other superstars are not active but have not announced their retirement.

It is not possible to guess who will hang up the boots in 2019. However, an assumption can be made after considering their age and performance in the squared circle. Here we discuss three superstars who should retire in 2019.

#3 Batista

The Animal
The Animal

Batista has become a successful Hollywood actor, but he could retire from the squared circle this year. Currently, the Animal is not an active wrestler, but he could return for a match at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

He appeared on the 1000th episode of Smackdown Live where he teased a match against Triple H. The former Evolution members might lock horns at Wrestlemania 35.

Batista was a massive name in the Ruthless Aggression Era, when he attained plenty of success. He won the world title six times, and the tag team titles four times. Batista won the Royal Rumble match twice and he main-evented Wrestlemania twice in his illustrious career. He competed in several high profile matches.

Batista's run was disappointing when returned in 2013. Though he returned as a face, the WWE Universe was not behind him. He headlined Wrestlemania 30, but he left the company shortly after. The 50-year old entertained the WWE Universe in his prime and this year could be a perfect time to hang up his boots.

#2 Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle

The WWE Hall of Famer has a big possibility of retiring this year. Kurt Angle was a general manager after he returned to WWE, but he returned to the squared circle at TLC in 2017. The former Olympic Gold medalist made his WWE debut in 1999, and he has been wrestling for two decades.

Angle was a force to reckoned when he made WWE debut. He had memorable rivalries with the Rock, Stone Cold, Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, many more. As a matter of fact, Angle is a Grand Slam champion. He won the WWE title five times, US title once, Intercontinental title once, European title once, Hardcore title once and tag team title once. Angle also main-evented Wrestlemania 19.

Angle was the tag team partner of Ronda Rousey at Wrestlemania 34. However, his last few matches have been substandard, and it is clear that the company does not have any big plans for the former WWE champion. Angle lost to Dolph Ziggler at Crown Jewel, and Drew McIntyre beat him in a dominating fashion. Moreover, he lasted just three minutes in the Royal Rumble match where he entered at #4.

Kurt Angle has a huge legacy, and the poor booking is definitely hurting the stature. He has slowed down in the ring, and his recent matches have been bland. Therefore, it could be an ideal time to retire from the in-ring action.

#1 Undertaker

Undertaker
Undertaker

Undertaker is one of the greatest wrestlers of WWE, and he has massive popularity. The Phenom has been part of WWE for three decades and this year could be the right time to retire. Presently, he is a part-timer who wrestles occasionally. His last match was at Crown Jewel, where he teamed up with Kane to face DX.

Undertaker has had many astonishing rivalries in his career. While he won numerous titles in his career, his most notable achievement was the Wrestlemania streak, which was the most iconic streak in WWE history. Brock Lesnar broke the streak. Taker also lost to Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 33, and the current Wrestlemania record is 24-2.

Undertaker will probably participate at Wrestlemania 35. In all honesty, the 53-year old should have retired after losing to Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 33. As a matter of fact, he left his coat and hat in the ring, and many people speculated that he would retire after the match. Nevertheless, he came back and wrestled multiple times.

Undertaker is a huge draw, and WWE wants him to wrestle as long as possible. However, he has had several injuries in his long career. Moreover, he is not agile in the ring, and he struggles to produce a top-notch match. The age and injuries have taken a toll on his body, and he might hang up his boots this year.
