It won't be a stretch to call the WWE title one of the most prestigious belts in all of Pro-wrestling. On April 25 1963, World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF) established this title belt, after seceding from the National Wrestling Alliance.

The very first WWE Champion was Buddy Rogers. Over the course of the next several decades, a long string of Hall of Famers and legends held the coveted title belt. In this list, we will take a look at 3 youngest WWE Champions and 3 oldest WWE Champions as well.

Note: This slideshow lists down the youngest and oldest WWE Champions, not the World Heavyweight Champions.

#3 Youngest WWE Champion: The Rock (26 years, 6 months, 13 days old)

An argument can be made that The Rock is the biggest mainstream WWE Superstar of all time, even trumping Hulk Hogan when it comes to popularity on a worldwide scale. Although he failed gloriously as a babyface in his rookie year, Rocky Maivia soon donned the gimmick of an obnoxious, arrogant heel named The Rock, and the rest is history.

The Rock defeated Mankind at Survivor Series 1998 in the finals of the WWE title tournament to win his first title, in a finish that was an exact copy of what had happened in Montreal a year before.

#3 Oldest WWE Champion: Triple H (46 years, 5 months, 28 days)

The Royal Rumble Match in 2016 was not your traditional free-for-all that would give the winner a shot at the WWE title at WrestleMania. This time, the match was centered around the Big Dog Roman Reigns, with the WWE World Heavyweight title on the line.

The crowd couldn't believe their eyes when Triple H came down to the ring at #30. In the end, he eliminated Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose to win the WWE title. At WrestleMania 32, Reigns won back the title from The Game.

#2 Youngest WWE Champion: Yokozuna (26 years, 6 months, 2 days)

Due to his sheer size, Yokozuna was as perfect of a replacement for Andre The Giant as WWE could have gotten at that point in time. Yokozuna weighed around a whopping 600 pounds and Vince McMahon decided to turn him into a top heel in WWE.

Yokozuna won the Royal Rumble match in 1993 by eliminating Macho Man Randy Savage in the end, and bagged a shot at Bret Hart's WWE title. He defeated Hart at WrestleMania 9 to become the youngest WWE Champion ever, but didn't get to keep the belt for long, as Hogan came out to save the day and ended up winning the title.

#2 Oldest WWE Champion: Hulk Hogan (48 years, 8 months, 10 days)

Hulk Hogan came back to WWE with the nWo in 2002. He faced The Rock at WrestleMania 18 in one of the biggest matches of all time. The ovation he received that night convinced Vince McMahon that Hulk was still incredibly popular among the fans. This resulted in Hogan getting a WWE title run.

At Backlash 2002, Triple H defended his newly won WWE title against Hogan. After interferences from Chris Jericho and Undertaker, Hogan managed to pin Triple H to become a 6-time WWE Champion.

#1 Youngest WWE Champion: Brock Lesnar (25 years, 1 month, 13 days)

"The Next Big Thing" Brock Lesnar won the King of the Ring tournament in 2002, and earned a shot at the WWE title. On the other hand, The Rock had defeated Undertaker and Kurt Angle in a Triple Threat Match at Vengeance 2002 to win the title.

At SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar defeated The Rock to become the youngest WWE Champion of all time, kicking off a dominant reign that saw Lesnar put down Undertaker inside Hell in a Cell.

#1 Oldest WWE Champion: Mr. McMahon (54 years 21 days)

It's still weird to think that Vince McMahon of all people once won the WWE title. On an episode of SmackDown in 1999, Triple H put his WWE title on the line against Vince McMahon, who was out to defend the honor of his family in the squared circle.

After suffering a brutal beatdown at the hands of Triple H, Vince McMahon was aided by Stone Cold Steve Austin, when The Rattlesnake came out and attacked Triple H and Chyna. He then pulled Vince and put him atop an unconscious Triple H. Shane McMahon made the three-count and Vince became the oldest WWE Champion in history.
