4 Biggest reasons why Vince McMahon must turn Seth Rollins heel

Seth Rollins has been acting like a heel for a while now. First, he shocked the world by defeating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania with the help of low-blows. If that wasn’t enough, The Architect also destroyed Bray Wyatt’s ‘Firefly Fun House’ on the recent episode of Monday Night RAW.

Many fans have considered his actions to be a heel move but according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rollins is still a babyface. He further provided a reason for the current Universal Champion to destroy Wyatt’s Firefly Fun House.

"I just figured it was their way of writing it off, which surprised me, as I wouldn't have thought they would want to write that off but they did and I guess they don't want it on SmackDown and Bray Wyatt is going to SmackDown and that was the way of writing him off of RAW."

While it’s said that Rollins is still a face, Vince McMahon should pull the triggers and finally turn hiim heel. Here are 4 biggest reasons why Seth Rollins should undergo a change in persona.

#4 WWE has Superstars who can lead Monday Night RAW

The first and most obvious question that will come into our mind after Seth Rollins’ heel turn is who will lead Monday Night RAW. Rollins is currently the biggest male Superstar on the Red Brand and WWE will need to assign his spot to someone else if The Beastslayer turns heel. With Roman Reigns being the face of SmackDown, Rollins is the only Superstar WWE will want to have as the face of RAW.

However, there are other talents as well, who could become the face of this brand. For instance, AJ Styles could turn face and lead RAW as he once did for SmackDown. If WWE doesn’t want that to happen, they could also replace someone like Randy Orton or Ricochet with Rollins.

If WWE hadn’t sent Finn Balor to NXT, we would have been the perfect replacement to Rollins as the leading Superstar of RAW.

#3 It's been a long time since he turned

Seth Rollins’ first and final heel turn happened back in 2014 when he broke The Shield. He had The Authority’s (Triple H and Stephanie McMahon) support and because of that, he didn’t have to worry about his career and getting opportunities in the ring.

However, as time passed, things started to change for the current Universal Champion and then, The Game turned on Rollins on an episode of RAW. He cost him the Universal Championship match and went on to help Kevin Owens take the title.

Both Superstars squared off at WrestleMania 33, where Seth Rollins beat Triple H in an Unsanctioned Match. It was one of the best bouts of the show, with the storyline also being properly executed by the creative team. However, since then, Rollins has worked as a major face and we have to agree that now, he needs to turn heel again.

There’s no doubt that he works wonderfully as a face but because we are seeing him in the same role for years now, this is hurting Rollins’ character and momentum.

#2 WWE needs to refresh his character

When AJ Styles turned face in 2017, the fans were already cheering for the former WWE Champion. However, in the next two years, not only did Styles provided the best out of him as a babyface, but he also made several records. But after some time, fans started turning on him.

They didn’t seem much interested in Styles’ gimmick and as a result, he turned heel on Monday Night RAW this year and reformed The Club (now known as The OC). It doesn’t matter however great a Superstar plays his or her role, after a certain time, fans will demand something new from them, except for a few.

The condition with Seth Rollins is very similar to that of Styles in 2018. He is doing his best as a champion, overcoming roadblocks every month but is receiving heat from the WWE Universe.

If Vince McMahon finally pulls the trigger and book Rollins as a heel, he could do many things with his character.

#1 Possibly the best time to capitalize on the situation

After getting into a brief Twitter spat with current NJPW Superstar Will Osprey over bank account figures, Seth Rollins faced massive criticism from the fans. However, Rollins was quick enough to realize his mistake and then also apologize for it to Osprey and the fans. Although we would be wrong to say that things have changed for the Universal Champion since then.

When Brock Lesnar decimated Rollins on RAW, the fans asked for more from The Beast. And at Hell in a Cell as well he got booed by the crowd for attacking The Fiend with a Sledgehammer and coercing the referee to end the bout.

The best WWE could do at the moment is capitalize on it and turn Rollins into a heel. He plays his role far better as a heel than a face and he has already proved it once. So this wouldn’t be a wrong decision if WWE decides to officially turn him into a heel.

A heel turn will not only allow Rollins to do new things with his character, but it’ll also allow him to remain as a champion while also not hurting his opponents’ character at the same time as his victories will mostly be a result of ‘cheating’.
