WWE actually pulled the trigger on Bray Wyatt, booking him to win the Universal Championship in the main event of Crown Jewel 2019.
It was a great moment which honestly could have happened weeks earlier. Nevertheless, WWE seemed to have rectified the error they made with the Fiend at Hell in a Cell.
This is a huge victory for Wyatt, in the sense that he has finally won a world championship over two and a half years after last holding the WWE Championship. It was well earned as well, as the Fiend is the hottest character in wrestling today.
Despite fears of Seth Rollins coming out on top in unpopular circumstances, "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt has come out on top. Here are four interesting facts about his Universal Title victory.
#4 He won the title on Halloween
Ever since Bray Wyatt returned with the Firefly Funhouse, WWE has done a great job in storytelling. The integration of "The Fiend" into Wyatt's locker was conducted perfectly and it has eventually become the hottest thing in the company.
The instant aim of this character was to create the quintessential horror villain whose primary job was to create a world of fear for his victims and fans alike. The presentation of the character was close to perfect, until Hell in a Cell.
But if anything positive came out of the baffling finish in early October, it presented WWE with an opportunity to make things right on the one day of the year that signifies the true horror of the Fiend, Halloween.
It took a long and bumpy road to get here, but alas, Wyatt prevailed. The crowning achievement of his new incarnation happening on October 31st was sweet poetic justice. It will be remembered as the day that "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt truly made it.
#3 Seth Rollins is still yet to properly pin him
Seth Rollins finally defeating "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt looked like an inevitability so when it didn't happen, fans rejoiced. It also retained the fact that Rollins has not been able to successfully defeat Wyatt on his own, even once.
Dating back to the days of the Wyatt Family fighting The Shield, the Eater of Worlds has always had Rollins' number. The two even faced off a number of times during the summer of 2017, with Wyatt coming out on top every single time. There has been an occasion where Rollins has gotten the better of Wyatt, but it happened under choppy circumstances.
The former Husky Harris was literally pinned by both, Rollins and Finn Balor, at the same time during a multi-man Elimination Chamber qualifier in 2018. This does not count as the Beastslayer was not the only person who pinned Bray Wyatt at that very moment. Funnily enough, it was Rollins and Balor who were The Fiend's first victims bell-to-bell.
Seth Rollins did try his hardest to slay the Fiend, with their Hell in a Cell match even going to a frustrating no contest. At the end of the day, Bray Wyatt still has Seth Rollins' number. And hopefully, it will stay like that for a while and we don't see them face each other again.
#2 This is the first time that Rollins has lost the world title in an actual match
Seth Rollins has won four world championships during his time with WWE. He picked up both, the WWE and Universal Championships twice each. A fun fact about them is that every single one of those victories came at the expense of Brock Lesnar or Roman Reigns, in some way or another.
But only in his latest reign has Rollins lost his title in an actual match. His first reign with the WWE Championship ended after 7 months when he sadly had to vacate it due to injury.
The Beastslayer, who cashed in his Money in the Bank to win the belt at WrestleMania 31, got a taste of his own medicine when he got cashed in on twice. Dean Ambrose beat Rollins minutes after his second WWE Title win at Money in the Bank 2016, while Brock Lesnar also cashed in on him earlier this year at Extreme Rules.
After being forced to relinquish the belt and getting cashed in on, Crown Jewel saw Seth Rollins finally drop the world championship for the first time in "normal" circumstances.
#1 Bray Wyatt has now won 2 championships in Saudi Arabia
Bray Wyatt has had an interesting time with titles in WWE. It took him close to three and a half years to win his first main roster championship, the SmackDown Tag Team Championship alongside Randy Orton.
He even won the WWE Championship shortly after. At Greatest Royal Rumble 2018, the Eater of Worlds picked up the vacant RAW Tag Team Championship with Woken Matt Hardy as his partner.
It has been one of the sparse title victories which took place in Saudi Arabia. Before Crown Jewel, WWE has been known not to switch any championships around at these Saudi shows.
The only times a title was won on one of these shows were when they were previously vacant, like the aforementioned tag title victory and Brock Lesnar's squash success over Braun Strowman a year ago. This made "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt winning the Universal Championship even more shocking.
This big win for him is now the second time that Wyatt has won a championship in the Middle East. Not counting the 24/7 Championship, Bray Wyatt has profited on two of the three occasions where a title change happened on a show of this kind.
