Will John Cena make a surprise return this Sunday at Survivor Series?

One of the highly anticipated pay-per-views of the year, WWE Survivor Series, is going to happen this Sunday. Quite similar to last year, this year's event will also showcase the existing brand rivalry in the WWE, featuring Raw and SmackDown taking on each other for brand superiority.

With a few blockbuster matches featuring some big names of both brands, Survivor Series looks promising. However, given the recent predictability of the WWE product, plus the history of WWE, expect some surprises and shocks to happen this Sunday.

On another note, WWE may also lay down the breadcrumbs of a few potential feuds for TLC pay-per-view, and possibly for Royal Rumble 2019. All in all, Survivor Series promises to be an exciting affair.

Well, today in this article I present to you 4 huge predictions for Survivor Series.

#4 Ronda Rousey emerges victorious in the 'match of the night'

Raw Women's Champion, Ronda Rousey, will take on SmackDown Women's Champion, Becky Lynch, this Sunday at Survivor Series in a Champion vs Champion match. Given the in-ring ability and chemistry of the duo, plus the recent intensity, this battle may not only be the 'match of the night', but also has the potential to be the 'match of the year'.

The duo had been firing verbal volleys at each other for the last few weeks, and Becky Lynch invaded the Raw women's locker room to attack Ronda Rousey last night on Raw.

Given Becky Lynch got the better of Ronda Rousey last night on Raw, plus WWE has been booking Rousey as an unstoppable force and the face of the women's division, expect 'The Rowdy One' to bounce back and emerge victorious at Survivor Series.

#3 Dean Ambrose distracts Seth Rollins to cost him his match

After attacking Seth Rollins to turn heel a few weeks ago, Dean Ambrose finally went on to explain his 'dirty deeds' last night on Raw, stating that The Shield and Seth Rollins made him weak.

Well, the Intercontinental Champion, Seth Rollins, is scheduled to take on United States Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura, of the SmackDown brand in what is expected to be a mouth-watering contest at Survivor Series.

Given Ambrose is not a part of any of the matches scheduled for Survivor Series, expect The Lunatic Fringe to make an appearance, distracting Rollins to cost him the match.

This would not only help Ambrose's character draw heat as a heel, but would also set up his feud with Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship quite beautifully. Also, Nakamura stealing a victory with the help of Ambrose would neither undermine Rollins nor hinder his momentum.

#2 John Cena returns to challenge Brock Lesnar

Raw's Universal Champion, 'The Beast Incarnate' Brock Lesnar will take on SmackDown's Champion, AJ Styles, in a 'Champion vs Champion' match this Sunday in what could be called a rematch of last year's bout.

Given John Cena is rumoured to return for a long stint with WWE, and his 17th Championship reign has been long overdue, a possible return of The Leader of Cenation could be on the cards for Survivor Series.

Apart from this, The Beast is rumoured to have only one appearance left in his contract after Survivor Series, thus this may mean a potential John Cena vs Brock Lesnar clash for the Universal Championship at TLC.

Given Lesnar may take his time off WWE for his next UFC fight, a potential win for Cena at TLC would also set up a blockbuster John Cena vs Braun Strowman match for Royal Rumble 2019, where Cena may go on to put over 'The Monster Among Men'.

#1 The Raw brand emerges superior

Raw could prove to be the superior brand at Survivor Series

As we all know, the basic theme of this year's Survivor Series is Raw vs SmackDown, where superstars from both brands will battle it out for brand superiority.

Given Raw has always been the flagship show of WWE, plus SmackDown emerged victorious in the first ever WWE World Cup at Crown Jewel, expect the Raw brand to come out on top at Survivor Series.

Of the seven blockbuster matches finalised for the event (excluding the cruiserweight championship), expect both teams to go into the main event (Men's 5-on-5 elimination match between Team Raw vs Team SmackDown) at a tie, with three wins each.

And given the reports of Braun Strowman vs Baron Corbin being advertised for TLC, plus the rumoured heel turn of Shane McMahon at Survivor Series, it hints that Team Raw may overpower SmackDown with a scoreline of 4-3 to emerge as the superior brand in the main event.
