4 reasons why Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks should main event WWE Hell in a Cell 2019

This should main event the show.
This should main event the show.

Hell in a Cell is WWE's next pay-per-view event, taking place in less than two weeks. The two marquee matches of the show are set, both happening inside the unforgiving steel structure. Seth Rollins will defend the Universal Championship against "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt while his fiancé, Becky Lynch, will face Sasha Banks in a rematch from Clash of Champions.

The Legit Boss has set her sights on The Man's RAW Women's Championship and after the inconclusive finish to their match at the last pay-per-view, the two will settle their score inside Hell in a Cell. And while either match could feasibly main event the entire show, it should be this one that ends the night. Women main eventing pay-per-views have become a common occurrence, happening in the most natural circumstances.

Becky Lynch vs Sasha Banks seems like one of those natural circumstances. Here are four reasons why they should be the main event of the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, and not Seth Rollins vs Bray Wyatt.

#4 A call-back to 2016

This match made a lot of history.
This match made a lot of history.

If Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks close out the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, it would not be the first time that this show was main-evented by the women. In 2016, the Legit Boss defended her RAW Women's Championship against Charlotte Flair inside Hell in a Cell and it was the first-ever all-female pay-per-view main event in WWE history. The match, while rough and slightly unpretty at times, did well to showcase the animosity between Sasha and Charlotte.

In giving Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch the main event, it presents them with the opportunity to reach the levels that Charlotte vs Sasha hit at its peak. The second-ever women's Hell in a Cell match will surely be more polished, having learned from the first, and are better poised to be an effective end to an eventful pay-per-view. The fact that Sasha lost to Charlotte brings about some storyline and psychological possibilities to the match, especially if it is the main event of the pay-per-view.

#3 Tried and tested

These two wrestled at Clash of Champions.

Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks are all too familiar with each other. As two of the Four Horsewomen of WWE, they have faced off in multiple huge matches and moments. Aside from their current rivalry, The Man and The Boss had a classic match at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable in 2015, before moving to the main roster and forming two-thirds of the historic Women's Championship triple threat match at WrestleMania 32. Sasha and Becky were also the first two entrants in the first-ever all-women's Royal Rumble match.

WWE has shown tremendous faith in the impeccable chemistry between Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch, and this faith should continue by giving them the main event at Hell in a Cell. Their match at Clash Of Champions was possibly the best on the entire show, even though it ended in a disqualification. The other possible main event for the show, Seth Rollins vs Bray Wyatt, is going to be more of a spectacle than a long and competitive match. If the company wants their best chance for a Match of the Year candidate to go on last, Becky vs Sasha will be their best bet.

#2 Hottest feud in WWE today

Blood feuds should receive the priority at Hell in a Cell.
Blood feuds should receive the priority at Hell in a Cell.

The Fiend may currently be the hottest act in WWE today but as a collective, no feud is hotter than the one between Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks. The main purpose of Hell in a Cell is to contain two individuals who hate each other to an uncontrollable level, so a definitive outcome can be reached. Out of the two Cell matches set for the card, this is the one with the personal issue. Sasha and Becky fought through the crowd at Clash Of Champions and have been in each other's faces for the better part of two months.

Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt have only begun feuding less than two weeks ago, with most of the emphasis and promotion being on the former Wyatt Family leader. Their Hell in a Cell match was presumably booked just for the spectacle of WWE's new horror megastar, while the tension between The Man and The Legit Boss is set to boil over in a major way. Their history together also suggests that an epic main event match on the main roster between the pair is long overdue, with Hell in a Cell providing the perfect opportunity

#1 No clear winner

It's anyone's match.
It's anyone's match.

The most appealing part of a feud-ending Hell in a Cell match, apart from the storytelling and the brutality, is the unpredictability. While we can figure out an outcome to such a match, WWE has been known to swerve us come showtime. The Usos picked up a pretty shocking victory inside the satanic structure in 2017, winning the SmackDown Tag Team Championship from the New Day in the process.

A year before, Sasha Banks lost the RAW Women's Championship to Charlotte Flair. The Legit Boss will hope to turn the tables this year and beat Becky Lynch for the same title. It seems like the likely outcome, based on the momentum that Sasha has garnered since returning to WWE. And then, there is the Bayley factor. The current SmackDown Women's Champion will surely feature in some way, with Charlotte following suit as well.

However, The Man losing may not be that straightforward anymore. She is a favorite to win every match she is in, after pinning Ronda Rousey in the main event of WrestleMania. All in all, there are many plausible finishes to this epic match, where the focus is on the rivalry. In the case of the Universal Championship match, the focus is almost solely on The Fiend, making it slightly more predictable.
