The 2020 Royal Rumble is drawing closer with each passing day, and the hype around the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble Matches for the event is at an all-time high.

Fans and critics are taking to social media and websites of their choice to express who they think should and should not win the Battle Royal(s).

The winner of each match will get an opportunity to compete for a Championship of their choosing at the Grandest Stage of Them All, WrestleMania 36.

Keeping that in mind, many top Superstars make it to the list when you think of who can win the Women’s Royal Rumble. While Charlotte Flair is one of those women who tops any list in WWE, there are a few reasons why she should not win the 2020 Royal Rumble.

In this article, we will look at the 4 reasons why Charlotte Flair should not win the Royal Rumble in 2020.

#4 She should remain in the Tag Team Championship picture for some time

Charlotte Flair has been a solo competitor for most of her career. This has allowed her to battle some of the top women in the industry one-on-one, and win several Championships in the process.

Recently, Flair teamed up with her friendly nemesis Becky Lynch to take on the Kabuki Warriors for the Women’s Tag Team Championships. However, the challengers were unable to take the title away from Asuka and Kairi Sane.

Flair is just one Championship short of becoming a Grand Slam Champion in WWE and needs to get her hands on the Tag Team titles to become one.

With that in mind, it will be good to watch her remain in the Tag Team Championship picture for some more time, possibly partnering with another Superstar who needs a boost.

Along with her partner, she could take the titles away from the Kabuki Warriors, freeing up Asuka to battle Lynch for the RAW Women’s Championship at the Royal Rumble.

Flair has proven to be an outstanding singles competitor in her career, and now the company needs to use her as a tag team competitor to push a newer face ahead while giving The Queen a chance to do something new.

#3 She already has enough titles to her name

Throughout her WWE career, Flair has been able to bag more Championship matches than anyone else in the women’s roster, allowing her better chances of getting a belt as compared to her contemporaries.

She has a total of eleven Championship reigns in the company to her name (1-time NXT Women's Champion, 1-time WWE Divas Championship, 4-times RAW Women's Champion, and 5-times SmackDown Women's Champion).

This makes her one of the most decorated women in WWE, whilst also invoking criticism from all corners as many believe that she gets preferential treatment and opportunities in the company.

Winning the Royal Rumble means a title shot of your choosing at WrestleMania, which is something almost every Superstar in the company longs for at least once in their careers.

Since Flair has already enjoyed a lot of success in her career, it would be better for the company to not allow her to win the Rumble for a shot at a title at WrestleMania.

Instead, the company could use 2020 to give a newer star the chance to aim high and bag the chance to get a Championship match at The Show of Shows.

Continuing the previous point, Flair has been competing in the WWE since 2012. This has not only allowed her to have an eight-year tenure with the company but also allowed her to bag eleven Championship wins, meaning she has won a title more than once every year on an average.

With that in mind, it seems like WWE needs to move away from the usual Superstars who they’ve already built up, and allow the newer crop to step forward and take their place in the company.

We’ve watched the company build stars like Becky Lynch after receiving positive feedback from the fans, and they could continue doing something similar heading into the new year.

Flair has enjoyed her success just like her father Ric Flair, and many other stars like John Cena and Roman Reigns. Now that the company will be keeping an eye on the future too, we should see a younger Superstar win the match.

NXT Superstars have done extremely well in the past few weeks and attracted the attention of the WWE Universe, and the company now has the perfect opportunity to push these stars forward and possibly give someone like Shayna Baszler a chance to get a Championship match at WrestleMania.

#1 She doesn’t need a Royal Rumble win for a Championship opportunity

As mentioned earlier, Flair has had a lot of success in WWE. She’s won several titles in the company, all after winning competitions and having rivalries leading to #1 contenderships.

The Royal Rumble and the Money in the Bank matches are the only two matches that take place every year and offer the Superstars a guaranteed Championship match if they win.

Flair has not won either of the two in her career and yet has been able to have so much success in under eight years.

Keeping that in mind, it’s safe to say that someone like The Queen does not need a Royal Rumble win to push her case for a Championship match at a big event. She has been a regular at WrestleMania events over the past few years, and it’s quite possible that she can easily get a match for the Championship the Royal Rumble winner is not contending for.

On the other hand, we watched Flair get her spot in last year’s WrestleMania match between then RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and the 2019 Royal Rumble winner Becky Lynch, which proved that the company is ready to give her a chance whenever they feel like.
