What twists and turns await?

Stomping Grounds is the upcoming pay-per-view of WWE which is set to be held on Sunday. Following an average show at Super ShowDown, the company will be aiming to raise the bar.

The stakes will be sky-high after action-packed episodes of RAW and SmackDown Live this week. Several blockbuster matches will take place at Stomping Grounds.

The Universal Champion Seth Rollins will put his title on the line against Baron Corbin, but it is still ambiguous if the latter will manage to get a guest referee. The WWE Champion Kofi Kingston is set to tussle with Dolph Ziggler in a Steel Cage match. The US Champion Samoa Joe will defend the belt against Ricochet.

The SmackDown Tag Team Champions Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan will fight Heavy Machinery, while Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will take on Xavier Woods and Big E in a Tag Team match. Roman Reigns will take on Drew McIntyre in a WrestleMania rematch. RAW Women's Champion Becky Lynch will square off with Lacey Evans. On the other hand, SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley will lock horns with Alexa Bliss.

Stomping Grounds will take place at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington. The show has a stupendous match card and we could except some unforeseen surprises. Here we discuss four shockers we could see at Stomping Grounds.

#4 The Woman's Right could knock out The Man

Woman's Right

The RAW Women's Championship match is set for Stomping Grounds as Becky Lynch will square off with the challenger Lacey Evans. The two women will lock horns second time for the most coveted women's prize of the red brand.

The Sassy Southern Belle failed to win their last encounter at Money in the Bank but she will be aiming to change her fortunes at the Tacoma Dome. The rivalry began after Show of Shows and it has been a remarkable feud.

In the first few months of Lacey Evans' main roster career, she has proven herself as a top Superstar of the women's division. Evans is a spectacular heel who creates nuclear heat while on the other hand, Lynch is a fan favourite and she is having a dream run.

Although Evans didn't succeed in pinning The Man, the former helped Charlotte Flair beat Lynch. The feud has been fantastic and the company will not hesitate to extend the rivalry. Therefore, it will not be surprising if the Woman's Right knocks out Becky Lynch at Stomping Grounds.

#3 Big E could turn heel

Since Kofi Kingston entered the WWE Championship storyline, New Day has been the focal point of the blue brand. While Kofi Kingston will defend the WWE Title at Stomping Grounds, the other two New Day members will face the team of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

Xavier Woods helped Kingston to retain the belt at Super ShowDown, so, the former is not likely to get involved in the WWE Title match. Furthermore, the WWE Title match is a Steel Cage match.

Meanwhile, Kingston is set to face Dolph Ziggler, who had an association with Big E in the past. The New Day member made his main roster debut as the bodyguard of AJ Lee and Dolph Ziggler, so it will not be out of the blue if Big E decides to join hands with Ziggler.

Similar to the Shield, the New Day members could be propelled as singles Superstars. Kingston is already an impressive WWE Champion, while Big E could do well as a singles performer. WWE could book an exciting rivalry between Big E and Kingston if he decides to turn heel at Stomping Grounds. The former NXT Champion could surprise everyone by turning on Xavier Woods during their Tag Team bout against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

#2 Sasha Banks could return and help Bayley to retain the belt

Bayley and Alexa Bliss are set to lock horns for the most coveted Women's prize of the blue brand. The Goddess became the number one contender of the Bayley two weeks ago when the former defeated Carmella and Charlotte Flair in a triple threat match. Following an exciting build up in the last two weeks, the fans are heavily invested in this match.

Bliss has an excellent track record against Bayley on the main roster, having two victories in two pay-per-view matches. When Bayley was the RAW Women's Champion, Bliss dethroned her.

Since Bliss has back-up at Stomping Grounds, Bayley might bring her own back-up. Sasha Banks has not been on TV after losing the Women's Tag Team Championship at the Showcase of Immortals but she could make her long-awaited return on Sunday.

Judging by the current title reign of Bayley, she is not likely to lose the belt at Stomping Grounds and Bank's interference could make things interesting. Banks could help her former Tag Team partner to retain the belt but the fans will be stunned if the four-time RAW Women's Champion subsequently turns on Bayley.

#1 AJ Styles could cost Baron Corbin the Universal Title match

Seth Rollins is scheduled to defend the most coveted prize of the red brand at Stomping Grounds. The Beastslayer will face Baron Corbin, which will be a rematch of Super ShowDown. However, Corbin has an advantage at Stomping Grounds. He will be allowed to choose a special guest referee of his preference.

Corbin was supposed to announce a special guest referee on the red brand this week but he could not do it. Seth Rollins attacked the Superstars who showed interest in the role of the special guest referee. Considering the scenario on RAW this week, it is unclear if Corbin will be able to announce a special guest referee at the Tacoma Dome.

Besides Corbin, the champion will be cautious about Brock Lesnar, as he tried to cash in at Super ShowDown. Nevertheless, we could see a twist in this match.

Corbin viciously attacked AJ Styles on RAW a couple of weeks ago. Styles returned to the TV this week and teased a reunion with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Styles could avenge the previous attack of Corbin by interfering the Universal Title match at Stomping Grounds. Moreover, the Phenomenal One never got a rematch of the Universal Title match at Money in the Bank, hence, he could re-enter the title picture and demand a title shot after Stomping Grounds.
