4 Things WWE could be planning for the upcoming week's RAW (23rd September 2019)

There are a lot of things to look forward to for next week's RAW, especially after the spell-bounding episode we saw this week. It looks like Paul Heyman is having a rather positive impact on the Red Brand's overall product.

Before going on, let's dive down memory lane and take a look at what happened this week. The show started with Seth Rollins recapping what happened in the main event at Clash Of Champions, but as expected, Wyatt interrupted the current Universal Champion with the Firefly Fun House.

Wyatt said he didn't like what The Fiend did to Rollins at Clash Of Champions and that he may give him a visit later in the night. After that, the King of the Ring tournament final between Baron Corbin and Chad Gable took place, which was won by The Lone Wolf.

Furthermore, the 24/7 Championship was won by a returning Glenn Jacobs aka Kane, but it was won back by R-Truth before the show was over.

Elsewhere on the Red Brand, Bayley, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair had another face-off with chairs, which has become a thing of common interest among The Four Horsewomen.

Besides, the best thing about the show came in the main event that night, when Rollins faced Robert Roode. The match ended in a disqualification after The OC and Dolph Ziggler decided to attack the current Universal Champion.

The Beastslayer was saved by a returning Kane, only for the latter to be attacked by The Fiend. That main event told many little stories and it was part of the reason why the episode was absolutely brilliant.

Now that you know what happened this week, here we take a look at the four things WWE could be planning for this week's RAW:

#4 Drew McIntyre returns, attacks Ricochet

Touted as one of the best in-ring performers in the company right now, Drew McIntyre has been suffering from illness lately, which has kept him out of the WWE programming. He was last seen when Ricochet beat The Scottish Psychopath in the King of the Ring tournament.

But McIntyre could return as soon as this Monday Night and could quite possibly attack Ricochet, taking revenge for the King Of The Ring tournament loss in the process. Right now, The One and Only isn't involved in a full-fledged feud and it would benefit him to take the ring with one of the biggest heels in the company.

This attack could give rise to a feud, which could possibly lead to a match at Hell in a Cell. This would be a really good way for WWE to ease McIntyre into the squared circle after his illness.

#3 The Viking Raiders emerge as the new challengers for the Raw Tag Team Titles

At Clash Of Champions, the newly formed team of Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler was crowned as the RAW Tag Team Champions as they successfully beat Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman.

On the last episode of RAW, WWE gave no hints whatsoever on who be the new challengers for the RAW Tag Team Titles as the current champions were attacked by The Monster Among Men.

So, it's quite possible that next week we see a tag team match to determine the new challengers.

As of now, that possible match seems to be The Viking Raiders against The OC. Of course, it's pure speculation and we could see even three or maybe four teams pitted against each other.

But that isn't the main point as no matter how many teams face each other, The Viking Raiders will quite possibly become the next challengers.

The former NXT Tag Team Champions have been facing local talent for months now and it's time they are involved in a proper feud. They as a team properly deserve a championship shot.

#2 Braun Strowman becomes the No. 1 challenger for the United States Championship at Hell in a Cell

At Clash Of Champions, Cedric Alexander was defeated by AJ Styles as the Phenomenal One retained his United States Championship, while Braun Strowman lost his Universal Championship match against Seth Rollins.

This week, on RAW, The Monster Among Men took out his frustration out on the newly crowned SmackDown and RAW Tag Team Champions. But next week, we may see him being involved in a more concrete storyline.

Strowman and Styles faced each other for the United States Title twice before Clash Of Champions, but both matches ended in a disqualification. So, next week, we could quite possibly see The Monster Among Men coming after the United States Title and The Phenomenal One.

With recent reports suggesting the end of the push for Alexander, it's possible the former Cruiserweight champion will be taken out of the United States Championship picture altogether.

Also, Strowman seems to be the most logical choice as the next challenger to Styles as the breadcrumbs for the feud were laid down before the Clash Of Champions. Besides, there aren't many feuds which promise to be as exciting as Strowman vs Styles.

#1 The Fiend lays his hands on Seth Rollins, again

Just look at that stare!

If there is a talent that Bray Wyatt excels in, it is at playing mind games with his opposition. Right now, it is Seth Rollins who finds himself in the bad books of The Fiend and this week's actions might have left a lasting impact on The Architect.

Next week on RAW, we will see the Universal Championship storyline develop a little bit more. The Firefly Fun House could quite possibly start the show and Wyatt might tease an appearance from The Fiend, later in the night.

This week, you would have noticed that The Fiend didn't lay a hand on Rollins after leaving Kane unconscious with the Mandible Claw. But next week, that might not be the case. We could see The Fiend hurting The Beastslayer, increasing the unpredictability and the feeling of fear around The Fiend in the process.

Moreover, The Fiend and Rollins faced each other at a Live Event at WWE Calgary and match is said to have ended in a disqualification. This could have been done by WWE to give a taste of what is coming at Hell in a Cell.

This feud elevated RAW's product massively last week and don't be surprised if this week's episode of the Red Brand is centered around the above-mentioned Superstars again.
