4 Things WWE could be planning on the season premiere of RAW this week (30 September 2019)

Set for RAW
Set for RAW

A new era is set to begin as part of WWE, commencing with the season premiere of RAW and followed by SmackDown's debut on FOX, as the Blue Brand will be moving from Tuesday to Friday every week. A number of big Superstars are scheduled to appear on the season premiere of RAW, apart from which three major titles will be defended on the show.

Former Universal Champion Brock Lesnar will appear on RAW and given that Lesnar will challenge Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship on the FOX debut this week, he is likely to be part of SmackDown primarily. The Miz will host two gigantic names, Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan, on a special edition of The Miz TV.

Rey Mysterio, who is the the number one contender for the Universal Championship will be facing off against Seth Rollins, as the latter will put his title on the line against the renowned masked Superstar.

In yet another exciting clash, after failing to capture the US Title at Clash of Champions, Cedric Alexander will get a rematch against AJ Styles. Furthermore, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode will defend their twin belts against Heavy Machinery and Alexa Bliss will take on Sasha Banks in a singles match.

RAW will take place at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona and here we discuss four things WWE could be planning on the season premiere of RAW.

#4 Cedric Alexander defeats AJ Styles by disqualification

The US Title will be on the line
The US Title will be on the line

The US Championship will be on the line this week, as Cedric Alexander will get a rematch against AJ Styles. The two men faced off at Clash of Champions, where the Phenomenal One defeated the former Cruiserweight Champion.

The feud between Styles and Cedric began after the latter was eliminated from the King of the Ring tournament. While Cedric has been a credible opponent for the Phenomenal One, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have been two major obstacles for the former. When the duo clash again, the other two members of The OC could interrupt the US Championship match, resulting in a disqualification.

A victory by disqualification will protect both Cedric and Styles, and it could lead to another match at Hell in a Cell. Since The Viking Raiders have been also part of this feud, it will be interesting to see if they get involved in the US Championship match on RAW this week.

#3 Seth Rollins defeats Rey Mysterio

Seth Rollins is set to defend the Universal Championship at Hell in a Cell, but he will have a monumental task on the RAW season premiere, as he will lock horns with the former WWE Champion, Rey Mysterio. It will a great opportunity for Rollins to build momentum before facing one of his biggest opponents to date, The Fiend.

Last week, Rey Mysterio returned to the squared circle, when he participated in a Fatal 5-Way Match. The high-flyer fought four other prominent Superstars of RAW and SmackDown Live, but he managed to overcome all the odds and earned his first Universal Title shot after he defeated Ricochet, Robert Roode, AJ Styles, and Shinsuke Nakamura.

It is improbable that Seth Rollins, who beat Brock Lesnar and Bruan Strowman, will lose the Universal Championship on RAW, a few days before a mega clash at Hell in a Cell. Rey Mysterio is expected to deliver a stupendous match with Seth Rollins, and the match could be highly beneficial for Rey Mysterio, who has not been at his best in recent months.

If Rollins defeats Rey Mysterio this week, we could also be in line for an attack on Rollins from The Fiend.

#2 Becky Lynch dismantles Sasha Banks

There is no doubt that the RAW Women's Championship match between Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch will be one of the most anticipated matches of Hell in a Cell. The rivalry has garnered the attention of the WWE Universe with some intense promos. Since the two women will clash inside the steel cage at Hell in a Cell, they could confront each other on RAW this week.

Sasha Banks is set to wrestle one of half of the Women's Tag Champions, Alexa Bliss. After defeating Nikki Cross, The Boss attacked Bliss last week and while Banks will be looking to gather momentum before heading the RAW Women's Championship match on Sunday, Bliss will be aiming to extract revenge for the previous attack.

The last episode of SmackDown Live on USA network had a thrilling ending, as Sasha Banks ambushed Becky Lynch in the backstage area. The Boss stood tall after the brawl, and it could lead to another scuffle between the champion and the challenger this week. Lynch could interfere during the match between Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks, dismantling her Hell in a Cell opponent, setting up a massive storyline before the pay-per-view.

#1 Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair become the next victims of The Fiend

Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair will be on The Miz TV

The Miz TV, which is hosted by The Miz, is one of the most captivating talk shows in WWE. The A-Lister has interviewed several titanic names in his show, making it highly entertaining for the fans. Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan will make their presence felt on RAW, and they will be special guests on The Miz TV this week.

Although Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair hung up their boots years ago, they still make special appearances in WWE. Both the legendary Superstars appeared last time at RAW Reunion, which was held a couple of months ago

It's no secret that The Fiend has been targeting legendary past Superstars since making his in-ring debut. Bray Wyatt's alter ego assaulted big names like- Kurt Angle, Mick Foley, Jerry Lawler, and Kane. Since Ric and Hogan will be present on RAW this week, there is a huge possibility of another attack from The Fiend.
