4 Things WWE got right last month (November 2019)

November was a great month for WWE

December, the final month of the year, has arrived and WWE will be hoping to end the year on a high note. With this week's blockbuster RAW episode, the company certainly got off to a great start. TLC will be the only pay-per-view of the month and it is set to take place on December 15th.

November was a monumental month for WWE, as several changes were made after the brand split. Survivor Series, one of the company's biggest pay-per-views, took place last month, delivering an outstanding show with all three brands. Moreover, a few titles also changed hands in November.

Let's take a look at four things WWE got right in November.

#4 The brand switch of world titles

The Universal Title changed colour on SmackDown

When WWE introduced the Universal Championship in 2016, it was unveiled on RAW, making it the Red Brand's primary world title. The WWE Champion, on the other hand, officially became SmackDown's world championship. However, the scenario changed last month, as the Universal Championship and the WWE Championship switched brands.

Brock Lesnar was attacked by Rey Mysterio at Crown Jewel, giving 'The Beast' a reason to quit SmackDown and pursue Rey Mysterio on RAW. The two men produced a spectacular feud, and faced off at Survivor Series.

The Fiend was also put in a bizarre situation after winning the Universal Championship at Crown Jewel, where he beat Seth Rollins. Bray Wyatt was already swapped to the Blue Brand in the draft, and a SmackDown Superstar wasn't eligible to hold the Universal Championship, which was then the top title of the RAW brand. When Lesnar quit the Blue Brand, it was clear that Universal Title would move over to SmackDown and become the top title there. It was certainly a brilliant move from WWE, considering only the midcard titles switched brands before.

#3 Rey Mysterio won the United States Championship

Rey Mysterio had a fantastic November, as he rejuvenated his character, reaching the top of the ladder once again. The former WWE Champion continued the storyline from Crown Jewel, and acted boldly by attacking Brock Lesnar. A furious 'Beast' left SmackDown to hunt Mysterio on RAW. Mysterio eventually lost to Lesnar at Survivor Series, but received another huge opportunity on the next episode of RAW.

Mysterio participated in a Fatal 4-Way match to select the next opponent for AJ Styles, who held the United States Championship. After a hard-fought battle, Mysterio came away victorious and fought AJ Styles on the very same night. Finishing a lengthy title run from Styles, Mysterio won the US Championship on the final RAW of November, ending the month on a high. Given his current momentum, he is expected to have a significant title reign.

#2 Daniel Bryan's face turn and feud with The Fiend

After bringing the Universal Championship to SmackDown, we didn't have to wait long to see The Fiend's next target. Daniel Bryan, a former WWE Champion, was sabotaged by The Fiend in the backstage area, starting a brand new feud.

Bryan was in serious need of a character change, and the rivalry allowed him to make a much-needed full fledged face turn. Attaining success as a babyface and the leader of 'Yes Movement', Bryan is certainly a stupendous good guy. Although he lost to The Fiend at Survivor Series, the rivalry will continue, as it was made clear on the final SmackDown of November. Having shown a glimpse of bringing back the 'Yes Movement' on the Blue Brand last week, Bryan could return to his popular old self soon, or we could see some significant changes considering he was pulled under the ring and had his hair cut by The Fiend. Either way, this feud looks to be highly entertaining in the weeks ahead.

#1 Adding NXT to Survivor Series

As the second oldest active pay-per-view in WWE, Survivor Series has history, but a new feather was added to the prestigious event with the addition of WWE's developmental brand NXT. For the first time in WWE, three brands competed at Survivor Series, making the battle for brand supremacy a tri-brand contest. As a result, a number of Triple Threat matches took place this year.

It began on the SmackDown after Crown Jewel, when several NXT Superstars invaded the Blue Brand, owing to a flight delay in Saudi Arabia. Spearheaded by Adam Cole and The Undisputed Era, the Black and Yellow brand shocked the system, invading the next RAW as well, setting up several matches for Survivor Series.

While NXT's addition turned heads at Survivor Series, their performance certainly shocked the WWE Universe, considering the developmental brand won the battle for brand supremacy in its very first attempt. Securing four wins at Survivor Series, NXT was victorious by a significant margin. Not only did the victory enable NXT to garner the attention of fans who don't follow the product, but also allowed to the brand to take a step forward in the Wednesday Night War with AEW.
