4 Times Brock Lesnar lost his cool

People who have worked with Brock Lesnar over the years pointed out on multiple occasions that Lesnar was not always a friendly co-worker.

The former multiple time WWE Champion is known to be a Beast inside the ring, but sometimes he couldn't help himself from losing his cool either backstage or during a match.

He had various altercations with fellow wrestlers and officials over the years and came out of the scuffle unscathed because of his position in the company.

The Beast Incarnate had this reputation even in his pro football career. Lesnar had a brief stint with the Minnesota Vikings in 2004, for whom he played in several pre-season games.

During one game with the Kansas City Chiefs, an opposition player had some derogatory comments about Lesnar’s teammate Daunte Culpepper. On their next match, Lesnar channelled his inner pro-wrestler and took the player to suplex city.

It’s an example of why one should not get on the wrong side of the Beast Incarnate. There are various backstage and in-ring altercations over the years, and let’s look at four incidents in brief.

#4 When he felt betrayed by John Cena at Extreme Rules 2012

It was just the beginning!

Brock Lesnar returned to the WWE after eight years in 2012 and immediately started a feud with the company’s poster boy John Cena.

The two squared off in an extreme rules match at the titular PPV in April 2012. WWE had Cena go over Lesnar but made sure Lesnar dominated most of the match only to go down to Cena’s four moves of doom.

WWE booked Cena to get stretchered out of the arena after the match so Lesnar would look strong. But Cena got back on his feet and cut a promo before leaving.

The sudden change in booking had Lesnar throw a tantrum backstage, and it took the officials so long to console the Raging Beast. Lesnar got one over Cena at SummerSlam 2014 squashing him to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

#3 When Matt Hardy inadvertently hit him on the head with a steel chair

Vince McMahon was so high on Brock Lesnar when he debuted in 2002. The Beast Incarnate broke his way into the main event picture and became the youngest WWE Champion in the company’s history at 25.

Another person who was also set to receive a big push was Matt Hardy. The two superstars crossed paths on an episode of Raw and during which the elder Hardy brother accidentally hit Lesnar on the head with a steel chair.

Matt Hardy had the following to say on what happened backstage after the match on an edition of Pro Wrestling Shoots.

“I gotta go twelve minutes with Brock Lesnar, and I know he wants to kill me. I just remember him coming back like a gorilla. He’s like ‘What the f***?’ ‘Why the f*** did you hit me in the head?’”’

But Matt asserted that even after the incident, Brock was very safe with him during the match despite being angry, lauding the Beast for his professional behaviour.

#2 When he threw a legitimate punch at Braun Strowman at Royal Rumble 2018

Strowman learned it the hard way!

Brock Lesnar defended the Universal Championship against Braun Strowman and Kane in a triple threat match at Royal Rumble 2017. Lesnar's Universal title reign counted 301 days at the time and was on his course to beating CM Punk's 434-day title reign.

During the match, Strowman landed a few stiff knees on Lesnar's ear which enraged the Beast Incarnate. Lesnar took things into his own hands and threw a legitimate punch at Strowman which knocked down the Monster Among Men to his knees.

Lesnar was audibly yelling "Slow the f*** down" at Strowman after landing the punch. Strowman learned it the hard way not to have his emotions prevent him from being safe in the ring.

WWE banned the use of closed fist punches as it could cause severe damage to the receiver. Other superstars would’ve got in trouble for doing that, but Lesnar got away with it like it never happened.

#1 With Vince McMahon backstage at WrestleMania 34

McMahon's are no exception!
McMahon's are no exception!

Brock Lesnar shocked the world when he retained the Universal title at WrestleMania 34 against Roman Reigns.

The fans thought Lesnar will drop the title to Reigns after the rumours of him going back to the UFC took over the internet. But Vince McMahon changed the plans at the last minute after Lesnar and Paul Heyman signed a new contract with the company.

After the match, a visibly pissed off Brock Lesnar flung the Universal title at Vince McMahon sitting at gorilla position. McMahon reacted to Lesnar's sudden fit of rage by calling him an 'a*****'.

The reason behind the Beast's sudden outburst was said to be him being upset over the fans' reaction to the WrestleMania 34 main event.

McMahon, who suspended Titus O'Neil for pulling his hands during a segment did not utter a word on Lesnar's actions which proves even the Chairman of the board is not safe from the rage of the Beast Incarnate.
