4 Twists for RAW: The Fiend attacks another legend, big title change?

The Fiend could have sinister plans in place for RAW
The Fiend could have sinister plans in place for RAW

Another week and we have another stacked episode of RAW, on paper at least. This week's episode is the 'season premiere' and sees Seth Rollins defending the WWE Universal Championship against none other than Rey Mysterio. We also have a juicy tag-team title match on our hands with Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler putting their titles on the line against Heavy Machinery. A third title match on tonight's stacked card sees a United States title rematch between AJ Styles and Cedric Alexan

Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan will also be on RAW tonight as special guests on Miz TV. What could go wrong? What surprises could WWE have in store for us tonight? Let's take a look.

#4 Rey Mysterio becomes The Fiend’s next victim

Seth Rollins will put his title on the line tonight

Last week’s episode of WWE RAW saw a Fatal-5-Way match to decide who would challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship on the ‘season premiere’ of RAW tonight. The match was eventually won by WWE legend Rey Mysterio.

Mysterio will challenge Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship tonight on RAW but there is a good chance that things will not end well for Mysterio. The Fiend could play a surprising part in the finish of this match with he himself setting his eyes on the WWE Universal Championship.

With it looking increasingly likely that it will be ‘The Fiend’ who challenges Seth Rollins for the title at Hell In A Cell in October, The Fiend could attack Rey Mysterio during his title match on RAW tonight. The Fiend has already attacked Kane and Braun Strowman in recent weeks and Rey Mysterio could very well be next.

#3 Authors of Pain make their presence felt

AOP returned to WWE RAW just a couple of weeks ago, announcing their return with a backstage vignette. They also appeared backstage last week on RAW, sending a message to the RAW tag-team division.

Tonight’s episode of RAW features Heavy Machinery – Otis Dozovic and Tucker Knight – challenging Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode for the RAW Tag-Team Championships. This could be a star-making night for Heavy Machinery, but AOP could ruin their night. It wouldn’t be a complete shock to see AOP come out to wipe out both teams and in turn, send a strong message to the rest of the RAW Tag Team division.

#2 Cedric Alexander shocks the WWE Universe

Could AJ Styles be in for a huge shock tonight?
Could AJ Styles be in for a huge shock tonight?

One man who has gotten a pretty big push in recent months is former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander. Cedric is currently embroiled in a feud with WWE United States Champion AJ Styles. Alexander has already had a shit at the US title but was unsuccessful and he gets another chance tonight on RAW.

Even though Styles will definitely be heading into the match as the favorite, especially Gallows and Anderson being at ringside as insurance. However, even though it would be a massive surprise, it isn’t totally impossible that Cedric Alexander leaves RAW as United States Champion.

#1 Brock Lesnar dismantles The New Day

The first episode of WWE SmackDown on FOX next Friday sees Brock Lesnar wrestling for the first time on SmackDown in more than a decade. Lesnar will challenge WWE Champion Kofi Kingston on the first episode of FOX and he will be on RAW tonight to promote Friday’s match.

Kofi Kingston has an uphill battle ahead of him, especially when you look back at his last match against Lesnar. Kofi and Brock faced off at Beast in the East a few years ago and Kofi got absolutely destroyed along with the rest of the New Day.

With Lesnar on RAW, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Kofi and The New Day there as well. This would provide the perfect opportunity to put even more heat on Brock Lesnar by having him take out Big E and Xavier Woods. This way not only would it add to the heat between Lesnar and Kofi, but it would give fans an even bigger reason to get behind Kingston on the first episode of SmackDown on FOX.
