4 Ways WWE has changed for the better

WWE has turned a completely new leaf
WWE has turned a completely new leaf

If you have been a long time WWE fan, you know how stressful it was to remain a fan of the newly turned PG product. Storylines were diluted, the babyfaces silly, and the heels just plain dumb. Add to that a Creative not equipped to write within the confines of PG restrictions, and you get a bad product.

However ever since then, WWE has improved a lot in ways thought unimaginable. Although shoddy booking persists, the product remains a net positive.

On this article, we'll take a look at some ways in which the WWE has changed for the better.

#1. Newer faces

The main roster is STACKED

Say what you want about the indie-raiding policy of the WWE, it has provided us with exciting matchups never thought possible. Gone are the days when Orton and Cena were the only main event guys on the roster.

AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, etc. are just one of the many names who are main event material. This keeps the title picture and the product fresh. We don't have to sit through plodding Randy Orton matches or an obese Big Show going through the motions.

The product is faster, fresher, and thoroughly more enjoyable.

#2. Exciting in-ring product

Classics galore

With the rise of NXT as a brand in itself, the in-ring product has never been more exciting. Johnny Gargano vs Andrade 'Cien' Alma was rated 5 stars by Dave Meltzer. This was the first WWE match to be given five stars after the epic John Cena vs CM Punk at MITB 2011.

Current superstars like Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, and Samoa Joe are tremendous workers. Even Roman, much maligned by the WWE Universe puts on great matches on a consistent basis.

Safe to say, the WWE has gotten the 'wrestling' part of the World Wrestling Entertainment just right.

#3. Better storylines

Put your pitchfork down folks, and hear me out. The current product has better storylines. That doesn't necessarily mean that all are knocked out of the park fantastic.

Given the creative doldrums of those past years, where Hornswoggle of all people was the center of important storylines, the current product is much better.

The WWE Creative has become much more familiar with the PG restrictions and manages to provide exciting television once in a while. If you need any proof, check out the Shield reunion last year. The writing has become more nuanced over a period of time.

#4. Women come to the fore.

Granted, TNA did it way before WWE, but the Women's Revolution has been an incredibly inspiring tale. Legitimate, skilled women perform in place of mere eye candies.

Initiatives like the first Women's Royal Rumble, Evolution PPV have cemented WWE's stance on female wrestlers. Women have main-event RAW, Smackdown Live! and numerous PPVs, many times outshining the men.
