5 brutal encounters involving WWE's Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman has been involved in some of the deadliest action in WWE history.
How did Braun Strowman walk away alive from some of these attacks?

Braun Strowman is a force to be reckoned with. Even when compared to the other monsters on the Raw roster, he stands out as far more fearsome than all the rest. He is 100 lbs heavier than Brock Lesnar as well as more than a decade younger than The Big Show. Being able to size up against any of his most intimidating peers makes the potential for carnage that much greater.

Oftentimes, this leads to near-deadly tactics used by him or his opponents. In his still young career on WWE's main roster, "The Monster Among Men" has nearly killed or almost been killed multiple times. These moments have made for some of the most riveting spectacles in modern pro-wrestling even though it's hard to believe that anyone could survive some of these stunts.

Whether it's assault by ambulance, the misuse of a medical gurney, or an unfair four on one attack ending inside the back of a dump truck, there's no denying that charges should've been pressed after at least some of these attempted murders.

#5 Taking out the trash

On the final RAW before Payback 2017, Kalisto took on Braun Strowman in a Dumpster Match. Shockingly, Kalisto scored the win after kicking his opponent off the apron while positioned above the dumpster. In the moment, Corey Graves stated on commentary that he had a feeling that the win was the worst possible thing that could’ve happened to Kalisto. He was right.

Strowman viciously beat down the man who just defeated him, stuffed him inside the dumpster, then wheeled it to the top of the entrance ramp. After a brief moment of contemplation, Braun pushed the dumpster off the top of the ramp as the commentary team responded with concern for the little guy.

While this action does count as a threat on a wrestler’s life, it does fall a little short when compared to the infamous dumpster off the entrance ramp angle between the New Age Outlaws and Cactus Jack & Chainsaw Charlie from February 1998. There was a considerably steeper drop for Foley & Funk to survive on that occasion.

Someone must’ve told Kalisto to walk this one off because he was back in action in a match against Strowman again two weeks later.

#4 Attacked a gurney

Eight days after defeating The Undertaker in the main event of WrestleMania 33, Roman Reigns sat down in a backstage interview to discuss the match. He only had a few minutes to talk about his respect for The Deadman and how the win was bittersweet before Braun Strowman showed up to deliver one of the most savage beatdowns in wrestling history.

Officials and backstage personnel watched helplessly as The Monster Among Men repeated the cycle of attacking The Big Dog, perceivably walking away finished, only to return again moments later for a more heightened assault. During one of Braun's pauses from violence, medical attendants strapped Roman onto a gurney to tend to his wounds. Strowman reappeared with as much serenity as an out of control freight train to wheel Reigns off a loading dock. Since he was strapped to the board, Roman was helpless to brace for the fall.

Sadly for Roman, this was merely the first attempted murder for him to survive on this episode of Raw...

#3 The ambulance flip

This infamous night of ferocity from Braun Strowman did not end when Roman Reigns' life flashed before his eyes after crashed-landing off of a gurney. He made it clear that he wasn't finished with Roman as he stormed into the ambulance that was about to take him to a local medical facility. In the cartoonishly awesome climax to this segment, Strowman grabbed the side of the ambulance and flipped it over with his bare hands.

This unmerciful, one-sided assault would normally be a sure-fire way to gain sympathy for the victim. Not on this night. Roman received "You deserve it" chants as the applause for Braun intensified with every blood-thirsty reemergence.

Roman Reigns eventually got his revenge because this was not the final attempted murder angle featuring himself, Braun Strowman, and an ambulance.

#2 Vehicular manslaughter

After all that they've been through, there was no way Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns were getting through 2017 without an Ambulance Match. That contest happened at the Raw-exclusive Great Balls of Fire event in July, a match that showcased big Braun getting the win over his rival.

Roman did not take the defeat well, so he launched a post-match attack. He stuffed Strowman into the ambulance, then drove it backstage to contemplate the evil residing inside his own heart. He popped the vehicle in reverse, then brutally crashed the back end into a nearby trailer. Talk about a sore loser.

General Manager Kurt Angle arrived on the scene as Reigns departed. He watched as the fire department arrived, utilizing the jaws of life to rescue Braun from what was left of the rescue vehicle. Bloody, mangled, and only able to maintain a wobbly gait, "The Monster Among Men refused any medical attention as we heroicly walked away alive...but only barely.

#1 Compacted in a dump truck

A viral infection sidelined Roman Reigns from being an accomplice to the latest case of attempted murder involving Braun Strowman. That's probably good for any legal defence he needs to be building because of this dumpster attack against RAW's 385 lb. behemoth is by far the most damning. No jury would let Cesaro, Sheamus, Kane, and The Miz go free after what happened on this night.

In an attack brought on by his own teammates, Strowman was beaten then stuffed into the back of a garbage truck. The compact function was then turned on, presumably squishing him all the way down to a regular sized person. Those in attendance at TLC 2017 rightfully chanted "That was murder" as only The Miz showed anything resembling remorse on his face. Cesaro appeared the most amused by the apparent homicide that he helped commit.

Being the most recent homicide bid on this list, Braun has yet to reemerge on WWE television. It's safe to assume that he'll make a full recovery, but this will likely be far from the last time somebody almost died when Strowman is on screen.
