The WWE is no stranger to controversies and bad calls. Over the years, the company has invited many Hollywood stars and celebrities to take to the center of the ring. This has been done either to boost the popularity of the company or to support the celebrities and their endeavors. Don't forget that the E in the WWE stands for Entertainment, and the company goes to any heights to justify that E.

While some of the celebrity appearances have led to a lot of success and appreciation from the fans, others have fallen flat on their face. Athletes such as Mike Tyson, Mayweather, and Shaquille O'Neal have felt more comfortable and natural when surrounded by the ropes, but the same hasn’t been the case when hosts, actors, and reality show stars have been involved.

We’ve compiled a list of five of the best and worst celebrity appearances in the WWE’s history. That a look and pick your favorite and worst celebrity appearance in the WWE.

#5 BEST - Snooki

Nicole “Snooki” LaValle is an American reality star, author and dancer of Jersey Shore and Snooki & JWoww fame. She once made her appearance as the guest hostess of Raw in 2011. She wasn’t just done there, as she competed at WrestleMania XXVII the same year and teamed up with WWE stars John Morrison and Trish Stratus to defeat Dolph Ziggler, Layla, and Michelle McCool who appeared with Vickie Guerrero at ringside.

WORST - Ben Stiller

Ben Stiller's interview didn't end as expected

Ben Stiller is one of the biggest household names in comedy. However, his surprise appearance on Raw in July 1999 wasn’t one to remember. He was involved in an awkward interview with the Intercontinental Champion Jeff Jarrett where he went a bit too far in complimenting Jarrett’s manager Debra.

The ‘Mystery Man” actor paid the price as Jeff Jarrett blindsided the onscreen superhero and applied the Figure-Four Leglock. D’Lo Brown came into the ring to save Stiller, freeing him from the lock and knocking Jarrett out. That’s one appearance even Stiller would want off his CV.

#4 BEST - Mark Cuban

Mark Cuban is an American businessman, famous for being the owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks. The billionaire is also one of the investors of the show “Shark Tank”. Cuban made his first appearance at Survivor Series 2003, where he chased Eric Bischoff out of the ring, only to fall to an RKO out of nowhere by Randy Orton.

In December 2009, he made yet another appearance on Raw and moderated a showdown between John Cena and Sheamus. Things didn’t work out for the billionaire once again, as he got into a scuffle with The Celtic Warrior who ended up spearing him through a table that stood in the corner of the ring.

Cuban also served as a guest referee the same month in a match between Randy Orton and Kofi Kingston. Cuban extracted his revenge from Orton and fast-counted Orton’s shoulders to the mat, allowing Kofi Kingston to win the match.

WORST - Aaron and Nick Carter

The Carter brothers with The Miz

After the Backstreet Boys reunited, the E! Network created a reality show around Nick Carter's called 'House of Carters'. Aaron Carter, a member of the Carter family and Nick’s brother, joined Nick on the October 26, 2006, edition of WWE SmackDown to build hype for their TV show.

The two men joined The Miz to judge a dance competition between the WWE Divas. As usual in the WWE, things didn’t work out well between The Miz and the two celebrities. After a few exchanges, a fight broke out which involved the divas too and ended the segment.

#3 BEST - Hugh Jackman

The Hollywood Superstar bestowed the WWE with his presence on the April 28, 2014 edition of Raw. He was joined in the ring by Dolph Ziggler, and after a few moments, Magneto interrupted the superstars. Yes, you read it right, Damien Sandow in Magneto’s get-up came out to put down the Wolverine.

Things didn’t end well for Sandow, as he was hip-tossed by the A-lister and then Zig-Zagged by The Showoff to end the segment. Though it wasn’t too well-received by fans since the entire thing made Damien Sandow look like a nut, it was comical, to say the least.

WORST - Jon Stewart

The former host of the popular “Daily Show” was announced to host the WWE SummerSlam held on August 23, 2014. In his opening speech at the event, he said: “Let me tell you the difference between politics and what you’re going to see tonight: The WWE performers you will see tonight, they respect their audience.”

He welcomed the Miz, the Undertaker, the WWE Divas, especially the Bella Twins, Brock Lesnar, and Sheamus during his appearance. What washed down his appearance was his interference in Seth Rollins and John Cena’s match where he attacked Cena with a steel chair. This helped Rollins win the World Heavyweight and U.S. Championship belts which wasn’t appreciated by the fans.

Later, he paid the price as Cena delivered an Attitude Adjustment to the TV show host on the Aug 24, 2015 edition of Raw. The result wasn't too pretty.

#2 BEST - Stephen Amell

The Arrow star made his initial appearance on Raw in 2015 and stayed in and out of the scene for the entire year. After a confrontation with Cody Rhodes, aka Stardust at the time, the two had a few exchanges in and out of the ring.

Later on, Triple H announced a tag team match for SummerSlam 2015 where the team of Stephen Amell and Neville took on Stardust and King Barret in a winning effort. Amell was awarded a Slammy for the “Celebrity Moment of the Year” the same year for his dive onto Stardust during the match.

Since 2017, Amell has been active in the Ring of Honor (ROH) and has become a part of the Bullet Club faction in his quest to become a professional wrestler. He took on Christopher Daniels at the ALL IN event in 2018 but lost the match.

WORST - Jay Leno

In 1998, Eric Bischoff thought it’d be a good idea to bring in Jay Leno to bring more mainstream publicity to the company. The idea fell flat in its face from the fans’ point of view.

Jay Leno is no athlete and was nearly hitting 50 at that point. Bischoff put himself along with Hulk Hogan in a tag match against Jay Leno and Diamond Dallas Page to bring out one of the most painful to watch Wrestling matches ever.

The worst and the most infamous moment was Leno putting the mega-superstar Hulk Hogan in an armbar and Hogan trying to sell it. One cannot even imagine what Bischoff was thinking at that point.

#1 BEST - Donald Trump

Donald Trump needs to introduction. He is one of the only celebrities who has appeared on WWE and been inducted to the Hall of Fame. He even has his own bio page on the WWE website.

He has made a number of appearances on the WWE, including a gimmick where he apparently bought Raw and refunded all of the fans’ ticket purchase money. However, the most famous appearance of his came at WrestleMania 23 after Mr. McMahon challenged Trump to a “Battle of Billionaires” with the stipulation that the loser of the match would have his head shaved bald live on TV.

After the Trump backed Bobby Lashley beat Mr. McMahon’s Umaga, the WWE Chairman lost his hair in the center of the ring to the 45th President of the United States.

WORST - David Arquette

The list is topped by the worst moment of them all. David Arquette, more famous because of his marriage to Courtney Cox and less for his movies, was brought into WCW storylines in 2000, after filming the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) movie Ready to Rumble.

Continuing a feud, Arquette teamed with Diamond Dallas Page in a match against Bischoff and Jeff Jarrett, with the stipulation that whichever man got the pin would take the championship. Arquette pinned Bischoff in the match to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in the process.

He held the title for 12 days before handing the title to Jeff Jarrett after betraying Page in a match. The fact that the WCW thought it’d be a good idea to ruin the line of the World Heavyweight Championship for publicity is astounding.

Once again in 2010, Arquette appeared on Raw to mark his WWE debut and teamed up with Alex Riley in a handicap match against Randy Orton. To the relief of the fans in attendance, Riley and Arquette went on to lose the match.
