Heading into the event, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose all declared that they would leave with WWE gold around their waists.

Dean Ambrose successfully defeated Kofi Kingston to win the United States Championship earlier on in the evening. This paved the way for Reigns and Rollins to challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championships.

Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins completed The Shield's quest for gold. They successfully defeated Team Hell No to capture the WWE Tag Team Championships for the first time in their careers.

The finish of the match saw Reigns and Rollins hit a torture rack into a diving knee strike double team finisher on Daniel Bryan. With this, they picked up the victory and captured the WWE Tag Team Championships.

The winner of the match would challenge The Beast at the upcoming Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view.

Top Monday Night RAW Superstars Bray Wyatt, Finn Balor, Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe and Seth Rollins all faced off to earn a shot at destiny.

A tremendous, near 30 minute performance from all five WWE Superstars ended with Samoa Joe locking in the Coquina Clutch on Finn Balor. It caused Balor to pass out, giving Joe a shock victory and a Universal Championship opportunity.

This caused Triple H, Orton and Batista to put their issues aside and re-form their legendary Evolution faction on Monday Night RAW. The rivalry led to a six-man tag team match at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view, pitting The Shield against Evolution for the first time ever.

The match was frenetic and fast paced. An amazing moment saw Seth Rollins dive off a balcony onto Triple H and Randy Orton as they attacked Dean Ambrose in the crowd.
