5 best World Champions who were talk show hosts in WWE

The Lunatic Fringe comes up with an innovative show of his own

Dean Ambrose kicked-off Monday night RAW this week in front of 17,000 WWE fans in London and started the European Tour with a bang. Though Ambrose has started the show on a few occasions in the past, he always came out to run his mouth on someone, challenge someone and make fun of his opponents.

This time was different. Ambrose came out to mark a new beginning in WWE. Ambrose came out to officially launch his new talk show, "Ambrose Asylum" and called out his very first guest of the show, Shane-O-Mac. Many superstars of the past and the present have done talk shows (Roddy Piper- Piper's Pit, Dude Love- Love Shack) but some of them have been big hits.

As part of this article, let us have a look at 5 talk shows hosted by former World Champions in the company

#5 The Peep Show

The Peeps loved it a lot

The former World Heavyweight Champion and the fan favourite, Christian hosted a show called "The Peep Show". This started way back in 2005 and Christian had the fortune of having some very famous people as his guests for the show.

This show impressed the WWE universe in the early days and later lost its charm. Once again in 2014, the show made a return and lived for good 3-4 episodes. Christian and Edge even came up with the idea of the "Cutting Edge Peep Show" in 2015 and the fans loved it a lot. Some of the big names who appeared as guests on the Peep Show include Batista, John Laurintis, Teddy Long, Chris Jericho and Dean Ambrose etc...

#4 The Heartbreak Hotel

We all know that Shawn Michaels is brilliant both in the ring and on the microphone. The Heart Break Kid came up with a ground breaking show in the 90s called as "The Heartbreak Hotel" and made a mark of his own. Prominent guests for this show include Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Bob Backlund, Mr. Perfect, Bulldog and the list goes on.

Michaels has had numerous battles with many of his guests and his sense of humour during the shows was worth talking. This former World Champion and 'Hall of Fame' inductee has played multiple roles during his WWE career- a superstar, a friend, a guest referee, a host and what not!

#3 Cutting Edge

The Rated 'R' Superstar too had a talk show of his own named "The Cutting Edge" and he also had the luxury of talking to many famous superstars as part of this show. Ric Flair, Mark Henry, Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan were some of the famous names who took part in this talk show.

Edge even hosted this show in the past couple of years during his short weekly returns to the company. We all know Edge was a perfect heel and he was pretty impressive on the microphone. Edge and Christian, the best of friends, even combined both their shows and together hosted "The Cutting Edge Peep Show" in December 2014 with Seth Rollins as the guest.

#2 Miz TV

One of the best things the company has to offer

Talk about a host in WWE who spoke to almost everyone on the roster on his talk show and you would not hesitate to say Miz's name. Cesaro, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, John Cena, Paige, Charlotte and this list never ends.

Miz TV has been a blockbuster and the fans, superstars, viewers and The Miz himself loves this thing so much. It so appears at times that this former WWE Champion is best suited as a host than as a wrestler. Such has been his prowess and agility of thought on the microphone. He has the charisma and that comes as an added benefit to the show that came into life in 2006. We absolutely have no doubts that this show will continue to impress the crowds for a few more years.

#1 Highlight Reel

Then.....Now.....Forever

The most successful WWE talk show of all time, the "Highlight Reel" was hosted by Chris Jericho. Goldberg was the first guest in this show and that speaks enough of this legendary talk show. Jericho has spoken to many superstars on this show and the most impressive part of this show was Jericho's thoughts on himself.

He calls himself the 'Best in the World' and mocks everyone of their ranks in the company. This show has a legacy of more than a decade and that itself speaks how successful this was. Once upon a time, this was a regular segment on RAW and later for various reasons this practice has been called off and WWE has used it occasionally since then.
