So Many Matches To Choose From
So Many Matches To Choose From

WrestleMania is the biggest show of the year so it won't shock you that a fair few great matches have taken place at the Showcase Of The Immortals.

Follow Sportskeeda for the latest WWE news, rumors and all other wrestling news.

If I missed out your favorite then I apologize but this list is the 5 best matches out of 34 different shows.

Some of these matches are great technical wrestling matches, while some are wild brawls that managed to entertain the crowd. We can only hope that we will get more matches like this in the coming years.

#5 The Hardy Boyz vs Edge and Christian vs The Dudley Boyz (WrestleMania X-Seven)

Mania X-Seven is highly regarded amongst fans and is widely considered to be the best of all time
Mania X-Seven is highly regarded amongst fans and is widely considered to be the best of all time

15 Minutes of tables, ladder, chairs, falling through tables, spears off ladders, run-ins, literally, what more could you want out of life!

Mania X-Seven is highly regarded amongst fans and is widely considered to be the best of all time. A big part of the show's popularity is due to the fantastic tag team match which took place on the show.

On this night in 2001, The Dudleys defended their tag team titles against the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian in a TLC match. The second TLC match ever. If you put these three trams together you make magic. Simple. That is a fact.

The Hardy Boyz liked ladders, Edge and Christian were fond of chairs and I'm not sure if you are aware, but the Dudley Boyz quite liked a table or two.

Unlike TLC matches today, the match made sense and each team also had their own little helper. The Dudleys had Spike Dudley, The Hardys had Lita and Edge and Christian had Rhyno.

This is the kind of match you show someone who has never seen wrestling before to see if they like it. If they don't like it, you need a new friend mate. This one isn't worth it.

#4 The Undertaker vs Triple H (WrestleMania XXVIII)

End Of An Era
End Of An Era

The cell, the ref, Undertaker's hair reveal, this was just amazing.

The Undertaker has incredible matches at WrestleMania with Shawn Michaels (we'll get to that) but that didn't stop him from having some great matches with Shawns best friend, Hunter.

While their matches at X-Seven and WM27 were great, their WM28 classic was a great end to an era. With Shawn Michaels thrown in there as the special guest referee, this hell in a cell match was a treat to watch and one of the best Mania matches ever.

The story of HBK as the referee and him deciding to not end the match early only to be hit by Taker later in the match. Michales returned to superkick Taker, HHH then hit a pedigree for one of the best near falls of all time.

After a bit more wrestling and a crotch chop, Taker finally hit the tombstone and won the match. The three men hugged after the match was over. Amazing match.

#3 Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Bret Hart (WrestleMania 13)

What is it with special referee matches at Mania being great.

These men faced each other at WrestleMania 13 in a submission match, Zack Sabre Jr probably loved this match.

The most famous part of the match is the greatest double turn in history. Bret Hart entered as a face and left as a heel. Stone Cold Steve Austin came in as a heel and left as the biggest babyface in the WWF.

The match ended perfectly with Bret Hart locking in the Sharpshooter and the Rattlesnake fighting for as long as he could to not lose this match. After a battle by Austin to not tap out, he ended up passing out in a pool of his own blood.

This match had great wrestling and perfect storytelling which is why it is one of the best WrestleMania matches and WWE matches of all time.

#2 Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho (WrestleMania XIX)

Jericho's Best Mania Match
Jericho's Best Mania Match

WrestleMania 19 was great. It included such bouts as Steve Austin vs The Rock, Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle and Vince McMahon vs Hulk Hogan.

The best of the matches on this show, however, took place when two of the greatest wrestlers of all time stepped into the ring together.

This match was HBK's first at a WrestleMania since his main event at WM14 where he put over Steve Austin and got knocked out by Mike Tyson. This was a little different to that.

The match ended via roll up after both men hit all their big moves. Jericho was at his heelish best at the time so of course, he hit HBK with a low blow after the bell.

The fact that Michaels was so good after those many years off and that in a year he had two awesome matches on the two biggest shows of the year, with Jericho and HHH, proves how good HBK is. But he isn't done yet.

#1 Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker (WrestleMania XXV)

Best Mania Match Ever
Best Mania Match Ever

Despite the marketing for the show being all wrong and the main event of the show, Randy Orton vs Triple H being fairly boring and not fitting its stipulation, it was home to what many consider the greatest match in the history of WrestleMania. And while I hate to end this list rather predictably, I can't lie.

This was just a perfect wrestling match and although The Undertaker nearly died halfway through, it was filled with glorious moments throughout. Everyone thinking Shawn Michaels was going to break the streak, his moonsault, being caught and finally pinned by a tired Taker. This was so great.

The fact that these men managed this feat of having a match this good whilst both in their 40s, they truly are two of the best wrestlers ever. And again let's all just be thankful Taker didn't die. It was a close call.
