5 big questions for Vince McMahon

The main man
The main man

While there have been many influential figures throughout the history of professional wrestling, nobody quite compares to Vince McMahon. He's been the catalyst behind the rise of so many new traits in the industry that have developed over the years, and while you may not agree with every single thing he does on screen, the guy has done more than enough to earn the respect of the WWE Universe.

Since Vince first broke into the business, he's done a plethora of things that have opened the door for a parade of questions from fans around the world. Some of them have been answered over time but most of them haven't been, and while that may not be all too surprising, we're still determined to find out the truth.

Speaking of which, that's the one rule that we're going to be putting in place for this fantasy idea of ours: McMahon has to be completely honest with us.

One day we'd love to think that Vince will take part in a one-hour sit-down interview with a member of the media if only to see what he'd come out with. But in reality, we'll probably never be satisfied with how much we do or don't know about the man and the way he conducts his business.

That's not to say we aren't incredibly grateful for everything that he's done for us as fans, because we are, but it's Vince McMahon! How can you not be intrigued by him? He built something from the ground up and created a multi-billion dollar product, which is something that doesn't happen every day. He's a fascinating individual, and unsurprisingly, you'll notice that the entries we are about to talk about involve some of the biggest names and superstars in WWE history.

So with all of that being said, here are five big questions that we have for Vince McMahon.

#1 What happened in Cleveland?

There are two sides to every story
There are two sides to every story

Four and a half years ago, CM Punk walked out of WWE after years upon years of built-up frustration came out in the form of one big showdown in Cleveland. The former WWE champion ran down all of the things that were said between himself, Vince McMahon and Triple H on that night, but as is the case with everything in life, there are two sides to every story.

While Vince has never publically denied anything that Punk said, that doesn't mean there's not more to the story. The two supposedly had a close relationship throughout his time with WWE, which makes us think that the meeting in question had more layers to it than we originally thought. There's no guarantee of this, obviously, but we still want to hear about the juicy details.

#2 When did you decide to end The Streak?

The big one
The big one

Something that Vince actually has spoken about is his decision to end The Undertaker's illustrious undefeated streak at WrestleMania. The Deadman was 21-0 heading into WM30 in New Orleans, only for The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar to shock the world by delivering a third F5 before pinning Taker in the middle of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

It sent shockwaves throughout social media and beyond, and we want to learn more about it. Vince allegedly wanted Taker to give back to the business, but what we're really interested in is how long before Mania it was decided that this was going to go down.

We wouldn't be surprised if it was in the pipeline six months to a year in advance, but equally, McMahon changing his mind 20 minutes before the show went on the air wouldn't be that shocking either.

#3 Were you ever worried about the Monday Night Wars?

What a fun time to be a wrestling fan
What a fun time to be a wrestling fan

If you were a fan of pro wrestling back when the Monday Night Wars between WWE and WCW were happening, then we're extremely envious of you. The war saw the two top promotions in North America going at it, attempting to put the other out of a job - and while that may not have been the sole purpose, we're confident that it served as one of the primary motivations.

While WWE eventually came out on top it's no secret that they were in trouble for a few years, and we want to know whether or not Vince was ever worried about WWE actually losing the war. The landscape of the industry would look incredibly different if it had happened, but alas, things didn't quite get that far.

#4 Aside from Roman, who’s your favourite WWE superstar?

Who is number one?
Who is number one?

We're going to go ahead and assume that Roman Reigns is Vince McMahon's favourite wrestler for this one, and we aren't trying to joke around about that. Roman possesses all of the qualities that Vince has historically been interested in, and to be honest, we don't blame him for liking Reigns. He's a great performer, and he just needs a little bit of tweaking before he can reach that next level.

Aside from The Big Dog, though, we'd like to find out who McMahon's other favourite wrestler in WWE is. We've heard from Dean Ambrose in the past that Vince is a big fan of his, but we wonder whether or not that's still the case after his recent injury as well as the whole Stone Cold Podcast fiasco from a few years back.

#5 Will you ever completely hand the reigns over to HHH?

A new era
A new era

Something that fans have been joking about for years now is that Vince McMahon will probably be working 24/7 for WWE until the day he dies. It makes sense, as the boss is in his early 70s and he's still working as hard as he has been over the course of the last few decades. Still, it's interesting to consider the alternatives, with the most likely scenario being Triple H aka Paul Levesque taking over the day to day operations of WWE.

The Game has been gradually gaining more and more control in the last few years, which leads us to believe that he's being groomed to take over Vinnie Mac sooner rather than later. We all know that he's going to be lending some of his time to the upcoming XFL reboot, so maybe, just maybe, his time at the top of the company is coming to an end.
