5 Biggest changes that will happen once Vince McMahon leaves 'the chair'

Vince McMahon is preparing to relaunch XFL next year

Vince McMahon, the CEO of WWE, was absent from this week’s Raw and SmackDown Live. According to the Wrestling Observer Radio, McMahon's absence was due to an XFL announcement he had to make on Wednesday. In case you didn’t know, the XFL is going to be relaunched next year. It's an American football league which failed during its initial run in 2001. That time, NBC and Vince McMahon were owners of this corporation and they both suffered losses (35 million dollars, as per this report).

The chairman is already 73-years old and it’s not possible for him to manage Raw, SmackDown and the XFL at the same time. That’s why he has decided to slowly ‘leave the chair’ and focus more on his new project.

With that said, here are 5 biggest changes we will see in WWE once Vince McMahon steps down from his chair.

#5 Less involvement of part-time wrestlers in the product

Fans want to see more full-time wrestling
Fans want to see more full-time wrestling

Part-timers are one of the major highlights of WWE. Superstars like Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Triple H and more have had their fair share in the pro-wrestling world and since they are getting older, it’s not possible to have them in every show.

That’s the reason why they only wrestle in a handful of events but the fans are still not satisfied. The WWE Universe prefers to see full-timers in WWE than retired legends because they are the future of wrestling. Although it’s great seeing Lesnar, The Undertaker and Goldberg wrestling a few matches a year, this shifts all the focus towards them, which isn’t fair.

Plus, Paul Heyman will agree to this too. Here’s an excerpt from Sportskeeda’s Dropkick DiSKussions Podcast where Tom Colohue stated:

“Heyman wants to work with what he has.”

It’s true that part-time Superstars can’t perform every week and Heyman is concerned about this, which means that his main focus is working with full-time wrestlers as they’re able to perform every week.

#4 Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff getting full control of their respective brands

A few weeks ago, WWE appointed Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff as the executive directors of Raw and SmackDown Live, respectively. While we have already seen the ‘Heyman effect’ on Raw, the same can’t be said for Bischoff. He still hasn’t started his job in WWE but it’s only a matter of time before he does so.

These two will get more creative freedom in WWE once Vince McMahon shifts more of his focus on the XFL and it could result in great things for the company. Heyman and Bischoff are geniuses in what they do and it could be beneficial for WWE if they let them run things the way they want without Vince McMahon’s involvement.

#3 WWE will produce content we actually want to see

Braun Strowman and Seth Rollins

Fans have been criticizing WWE for the past few years for doing things their own way and ignoring what we, the fans, want. In the past, the Attitude Era saved WWE from sinking and although this company is still a monopoly in the industry, fans aren’t completely satisfied with its content.

As I said earlier, the WWE Universe doesn’t want to see part-timers wrestling in WWE. However, this isn’t the only thing WWE needs to rectify. Brock Lesnar winning the Money in the Bank briefcase and then cashing it for the Universal Championship was a wasted opportunity. WWE could have used a younger talent such as Ali and they could’ve had him win a major title, which didn’t happen. At WrestleMania 35, fans wanted to see Kurt Angle vs John Cena but what they got instead was pretty disappointing. Baron Corbin retired the former WWE Champion during his final tussle and while it has benefitted the former a lot, this wasn’t what the fans expected.

Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff know why WWE has hired them and they would do their best to make us happy, which also means…

#2 No more last-minute changes

Vince McMahon rewrote a recent SmackDown Live script

Over the past few months, Vince McMahon has made several last-minute changes to Raw and SmackDown Live segments and most of them weren’t good.

According to a rumor, Vince rewrote the entire script of a SmackDown Live episode just 2 hours before the show went live. A majority of fans (later on Twitter) complained that the show featured disappointing segments and matches.

It’s highly likely that what Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff plan for their shows will become the final script and if that would be the case then expect no last-minute changes from their side. These changes not only hurt the product, but they also force the wrestlers to rehearse their segment (or matches) in mere hours and we know that they could sometimes forget their script and mess things up in the ring.

#1 Underused talents will get more television time

Underused talents should receive more television time

Superstars like Naomi, Asuka, and EC3 usually don’t get the television time they deserve. Instead, Vince McMahon pushes Baron Corbin, Shane McMahon, Charlotte, and others way more than he should and it’s not what the fans want.

When Vinnie Mac leaves his chair, these underused wrestlers will indeed get more opportunities to show up on WWE’s weekly shows.

It will also enhance the quality of WWE’s existing product. More Superstars showing up on Raw and SmackDown will lead to fresh rivalries and fewer rematches - something the WWE Universe is desperate to see. Plus, this will also keep every performer happy and they won’t ask for their release. One way to make this possible is by using fewer part-timers on weekly television and not over-pushing a few wrestlers.
