Cody and Jake Hager were involved in a TNT Championship press conference this week.

From a fantastic clash between two AEW giants to a heated brawl between Chris Jericho and Orange Cassidy, this week's edition of AEW Dynamite featured many contrasting moments.

This episode did a really good job of hyping up Pro-Wrestling fans for AEW's upcoming Fyter Fest event. Stars like Jon Moxley and Sammy Guevara were missing from this week's action for two completely different reasons, and still, the company managed to book a solid episode from start-to-finish.

Here are the five biggest news stories from this week's episode of AEW Dynamite (June 24, 2020).

#5: Jake Hager's wife splashed a glass of water on Cody's face ahead of Fyter Fest

The TNT Championship press conference kicked off with Arn Anderson and Cody cutting passionate promos ahead of the latter's title defense at AEW Fyter Fest.

Arn even put over Jake Hager and revealed that maybe Cody wasn't ready to face The Inner Circle's muscle yet, but we all know that Cody Rhodes is most likely to successfully retain his TNT title next week.

The truth is that Hager isn't as intimidating as say, Lance Archer or Brian Cage. Maybe its the fact that Hager participates in Inner Circle's comedy skits every now and then, but with that in mind, this week's press conference segment was a step in the right direction.

Hager isn't a talker, and he arrived late to the press conference with his wife, Catalina White, who splashed a glass of water on Cody's face just to get under the Champion's skin before Fyter Fest.

Cody didn't retaliate for the time being, but if Hager's wife also stands by his side during the title match, it's very likely that Brandi Rhodes will get involved as well.

#4: Luchasaurus and Wardlow participated in an incredible Lumberjack Match at the beginning of this episode

This week's episode of AEW Dynamite featured an excellent opening match to get things underway.

It's obvious by now that AEW features some of the most athletic big men in the Pro-Wrestling industry today. Luchasaurus and MJF's sidekick, Wardlow, proved that there are fewer things better than two big men participating in a fast-paced slugfest.

The match peaked when several AEW Superstars went diving off the stage onto a horde of fellow lumberjacks. But in the end, Wardlow picked up the victory through a combination of the low-blow followed by the F10.

Later, Tony Khan made it official that Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus) will face MJF & Wardlow at AEW Fyter Fest.

Regardless, last night's opener was a dynamite way to kick off the episode, and moments like these prove how a Pro-Wrestling show can provide the best action from Superstars ranging in all shapes and sizes.

Simply put, you don't get to see any random big man performing a Shooting Star Press onto a pile of bodies every week.

#3: FTR defeated SCU in a great match before The Butcher & Blade stole their truck

It's become apparent that FTR finally broke free from the shackles of WWE's made-for-TV wrestling formula after arriving at AEW.

That is not a cheap shot to WWE by any means, because made-for-TV wrestling is necessary to ensure that RAW and SmackDown make some room for promos and other non-wrestling segments as well.

However, AEW's extensive focus on the in-ring product gives fans a chance to witness epic matches on a weekly basis, and FTR proved that they are not The Revival anymore. Dax Wheeler & Cash Harwood still follow old-school principles, but they managed to amp up their pacing twice as before while wrestling SCU this week.

After FTR defeated SCU, The Butcher & The Blade interrupted FTR's post-match promo. Not only did they steal FTR's truck, but The Lucha Brothers made their return to an already stacked Tag Team Division.

Before you know it, The Young Bucks have to team up with FTR to face The Lucha Bros, Butcher & Blade, at AEW Fyter Fest.

It will be interesting to see if The Bucks and FTR can co-exist together for one night only.

#2: Taz had some harsh words for the AEW World Champion Jon Moxley

We all know that Renee Young has tested positive for the virus that has changed our lives for the time being. As a result, the AEW World Champion, Jon Moxley was advised to stay home after having secondhand exposure to COVID.

So he had to drop out of this week's edition of AEW Dynamite, and instead, his Fyter Fest rival, Brian Cage, wrestled on the show.

Joe Cruz had the unfortunate opportunity of facing a monster like Cage, and as expected, the #1 contender for Jon Moxley's AEW World title absolutely decimated his opponent on last night's Dynamite.

After the bout, Taz mocked Moxley for staying at home. This was obviously a kayfabe instance, where a heel manager like Taz called out the main Champion for being scared of Brian Cage. After all, Moxley was on the receiving end of a beatdown at the hands of Cage two weeks ago.

Despite current circumstances, Moxley is scheduled to defend his AEW World title on the second night of Fyter Fest, July 8. We here at Sportskeeda hope that all Pro-Wrestling personnel power through this COVID wave as soon as possible.

#1: Orange Cassidy and Chris Jericho revealed their intense personas in a heated brawl at the end of this episode

Chris Jericho and Orange Cassidy's unusual rivalry has integrated a lot of comical instances, but on this week's AEW Dynamite, both men proved that there is a far more serious nature to their whole feud.

Jericho cut an intense promo that conveyed how Cassidy was just a sideshow gimmick for entertainment purposes, which was actually true a while back, but Jericho didn't like that Freshly Squeezed stepped into the bigger picture of AEW.

Cassidy's laidback attitude has earned him a massive AEW fan-following, but there are certain boundaries that shouldn't be crossed, and Le Champion did that anyway by crushing Freshly Squeezed's sunglasses.

This brought out the most intense side to Orange Cassidy we have ever seen. Both men brawled their way into the crowd, and Cassidy executed a leaping Superman Punch that put Jericho through the table.

A bloody Orange Cassidy stood defiant at the end of this week's AEW Dynamite, and this is the segment that has everyone hyped for their in-ring encounter at Fyter Fest.
