WWE Rumors : 5 biggest rumours heading into Fastlane 2019

Which one of these rumours could be true?
Which one of these rumours could be true?

The last stop on the road to WrestleMania is Fastlane, and while many see no reason for this pay-per-view to exist, it plays an important role in the build-up of many narratives that will be on the WrestleMania match card.

From the Shield re-uniting to finding out who is going to walk into Wrestlemania as the WWE Champion, it now seems as if this pay-per-view is not as pointless as many make it out to be.

As another piece of evidence that proves Fastlane might be the most important pay-per-view of the year is the exciting rumours that have been circulating the internet over the last few days. Many have speculated that there will be multiple heel turns, big returns and shocking moments that elevate the show. So let us go through the biggest rumours that surround Fastlane 2019.

#5 Becky Lynch Goes To Wrestlemania

Becky could finally be getting her championship shot
Becky could finally be getting her championship shot

The Women's Championship feud between Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair is one of the most entertaining feuds on WWE TV these days, as WWE has implemented a lot of clever booking strategies in the build-up of this feud, but not all has been smooth sailing.

Many would say that is due to WWE overbooking this in many areas, as Becky getting arrested multiple times and Ronda dropping the title only to get it back a few days later are some of the few examples of WWE doing too much with this.

But it seems at the event we would finally see WWE take the logical road by having Becky beat Charlotte to finally get added to the Women's Title match at Wrestlemania. This rumour is one that seems plausible as Becky has been on too many detours as of late, and by WWE centering her in this narrative once again, it allows for things to kick off.

#2 Bryan to retain via interference

Daniel Bryan is not done yet with.
Daniel Bryan is not done yet with.

The rise of Daniel Bryan as WWE Champion is something that not many had expected last year, as Bryan was fresh off his return and crushing it as a babyface, but WWE had other plans in mind, as we had no idea the man Bryan would become.

A vegan loving, environmental protector, Bryan became a heel that preaches to the masses, and it has worked to perfection. And with the rumour that Bryan will be walking into Wrestlemania with the WWE Title, it's safe to say that it's working for WWE as well.

Now, The WWE Title match between Kevin Owens and Daniel Bryan has been pegged as filler until Wrestlemania, which is not necessarily a bad thing when you consider the different factors in the programme.

From Kofi Kingston's rise to Kevin Owen's emergence as a top star in the WWE once again, maybe it's best for everyone if Bryan retains via interference. As anyone from Rowan to The New Day could cause this match to end via DQ, and even a returning Sami Zayn is rumored to cause chaos in this bout. While screwy finishes are overdone in WWE, if it helps the narrative, then there isn't a problem.

#3 Neither Miz Or Shane Turns Heel

Shane McMahon and The Miz's friendship seems to be coming to a close.
Shane McMahon and The Miz's friendship seems to be coming to a close.

Ever since Shane McMahon and The Miz had become the best of friends at the Crown Jewel event, fans and critics knew that WWE was eventually planning to build a match between these two men. While the narrative that surrounded this fued has been one of the worst things that have been broadcasted on Smackdown Live over the last few months, at least we thought we were to get this chapter closed at Fastlane 2019.

As rumours indicated that at Fastlane, we will see a heel turn in the Smackdown Live Tag Team Title match between the team of 'McMiz' and The Usos. Speculation entailed that it will either be The Miz or McMahon himself that turns on each other, as WWE is looking to put these two allies in a match at Wrestlemania, so this is the best way to do it. But now it seems like we won't, as new reports have indicated that Shane and Miz won't turn heel at the event. So this question is for you, how do you think WWE will inevitably build a match between the two at Wrestlemania?

#4 No Title Change Hands

No new champions.
No new champions.

The one thing that fans hate more than The Authority opening Raw every single week is no title changes on a pay-per-view. You are a fan that pays to watch a WWE event or attend it live, and in all honesty, fans are looking for that thrill you would get from witnessing a pay-per-view live, as anything from a classic match to a huge return would be enough to satisfy you. But it seems that according to many rumours, at Fastlane this year, we might not see any title changes.

The odds and just general knowledge prove this to slightly be true, as which one of the championships matches on the card do you see ending with new champions being crowned? As almost all of the titles defended at Fastlane look primed to change hands at Wrestlemania.

As Asuka losing to Mandy Rose seems unlikely, The Boss N Hug Connection are in for a lengthy reign, The Revival were handed the titles to keep them in the company, and the WWE Title won't change hands in such an anticlimax manner. Now while WWE loves to shock us, it doesn't seem like that they will, which will see all of the champions on the show retain.

#5 Dean Turns On The Shield

We all saw the implosion of The Sheild from a mile away.
We all saw the implosion of The Sheild from a mile away.

The one thing that is driving fans to tune into Fastlane 2019 this year is the reunion of The Shield, as Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins have once again come together to battle the destructive heels of Raw. Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre, and Bobby Lashley will be the men in the way of The Shield at Fastlane, as many expect this reunion to be Reigns welcome back party, but it might not be that.

Rumours indicate that Reigns will be betrayed by Dean Ambrose in this match, which will set up a Wrestlemania encounter between the two. This is a rumor that seems quite promising as Reigns and Ambrose are two of the biggest superstars on the WWE roster with nothing to do as the biggest show approaches. A match between the two stars could be the answer to WWE's dilemma on what to do with them, as this is a dream match that could take shape at Fastlane.
