It's been just over a year since The Elite founded All Elite Wrestling (AEW), however, the promotion has quickly risen through the ranks. It is currently considered as one of the top companies in America, along with WWE and IMPACT Wrestling.

Professional Wrestling fans have been vocal about dream interpromotional matches between AEW and WWE. They have always wondered what the possible outcome would be if the biggest stars from both promotions went head-to-head.

While there is a very minimal chance of that happening, there is a possibility that wrestling fans around the globe might actually get the chance to witness dream matches between AEW and Impact Wrestling.

Scott D'Amore, who is the current Co-Executive Vice President of IMPACT, recently pitched the idea of a potential crossover between his promotion and AEW. D'Amore recently took to Twitter in response to one of Dax Harwood's tweets about The North. He laid out a challenge for a potential dream tag team match between FTR and The North.

With that being said, here's five dream IMPACT vs. AEW matches that fans would love to see, given how vast both promotions' current rosters are. Without any further ado, let's get straight to it.

#5. Good Brothers vs The Young Bucks

"The Good Brothers" came agonizingly close to signing with AEW. However, the veteran duo of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows finally made their return under the IMPACT Wrestling banner at Slammiversary XVIII.

If they had signed with AEW, Gallows and Anderson could've competed against some of the finest tag teams in the business. Of course, they could've potentially had a dream match against The Young Bucks.

A few years prior, all four members of the two respective tag teams were part of Bullet Club during their time with New Japan Pro Wrestling. While "The Good Brothers" represented the Heavyweight Tag team division, The Bucks carried the Bullet Club banner in the Jr. Heavyweight Tag division. As a result, the two tag teams never had the opportunity to cross paths.

"The Good Brothers" vs. The Young Bucks would definitely be included on any IMPACT vs. AEW dream card.

#4. Deonna Purrazzo vs. Hikaru Shida

This one is a bit obvious but as of now, Deonna Purrazzo and Hikaru Shida are indeed two of the best female competitors in their respective division. Both Purrazzo and Shida hold their company's respective women's titles.

Compared to the rest of her division, Purrazzo is still pretty new to the IMPACT Zone. However, it didn't take her too long to climb to the top of the division. At Slammiversary, "The Virtuosa" defeated Jordynne Grace to win the Knockouts Championship. She did so just two months after her return to IMPACT Wrestling. Talk about dominance!

On the other hand, Hikaru Shida had to undergo a rather bumpy road in order to make it to the top of the AEW women's division. Having signed with AEW in April of 2019, Shida previously earned a few shots at the AEW Women's Would Championship. At Double or Nothing 2020, Shida defeated Nyla Rose to win the title after she stood at the top of the Women's Power Ranking as the number one contender for 12 weeks.

A match with someone as talented as Deonna Purrazzo, who has previously worked in Japan with STARDOM, and Hikaru Shida, who is an Ice Ribbon veteran, would be a dream match. Stylistically, the two women would be ideal opponents.

#3. Kenny Omega vs Eddie Edwards

Some fans probably feel that Eddie Edwards might've dropped in the pecking order with IMPACT Wrestling. That was until Edwards spectacularly regained the IMPACT World Championship at Slammviersary 2020.

Eddie Edwards is a veteran. Over the years, he has competed all around the globe for some of the notable promotions in the world. The reigning IMPACT World Champion has held titles for Ring of Honor and he was also the GHC Heavyweight Champion for Pro Wrestling NOAH.

Now, Kenny Omega has also famously worked in Japan and the US. One half of the reigning AEW Tag Team Champions has gained experience in Japan before he eventually transitioned to an American style of professional wrestling.

Omega and Edwards also have a ton of experience from their time on the independent circuit. Given the development that the two men have undergone through the years, a match between modern-day Kenny Omega and Eddie Edwards would be a sight to behold.

#2. Jon Moxley vs. Sami Callihan

Jon Moxley vs. Sami Callihan has been one of the most talked-about matches since the former departed from WWE and made his return under his original moniker.

So much so, that Sami Callihan even called for a match against the former WWE Champion shortly after Moxley he left the company. Callihan has already established himself as one of IMPACT's most important and vital wrestlers right now. He has also been lobbying for a dream match against someone as equally unpredictable, Jon Moxley.

To make things even more interesting, Jon Moxley and Sami Callihan used to work as a tag team called Switchblade Conspiracy. The duo dominated the CZW tag division before they made it to the big stages. A collision between the two men, especially in this day and age, would result in an absolute war.

Moxley is the reigning AEW World Champion. Meanwhile, Callihan was the IMPACT World Champion las year. That proves how much the two men have evolved since their days together as Switchblade Conspiracy.

#1. Cody vs. EC3

This year's edition of Slammiversary was indeed a turning point for the promotion. Not only did Heath Slater and "The Good Brothers" show up at the IMPACT Zone but fan-favorite EC3 also made his return to the company.

After his disastrous run in WWE, WWE finally released EC3 amid cutbacks caused by the COVID-19. However, the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion finally made his way back to his old stomping grounds at Slammiversary 2020.

Many fans hoped that EC3 would sign with AEW instead, especially after the former WWE Superstar teased the possibility of joining the promotion. Given EC3 had joined AEW though, one of the matches that fans would've loved to see is a heel EC3 against a babyface Cody.

Cody is currently hosting the TNT Championship Open Challenge every week. If EC3 answered the call, that would've been a mark out moment of 2020. If there is a potential crossover between IMPACT and AEW in the future, then showdown between EC3 and Cody would be a must-watch match.
