5 famous WWE Superstars you didn't know appeared before in the company

WWE is a global phenomenon every wrestler wishes to work with at some point during their careers. We have seen many famous, as well as up and coming wrestlers try their luck in the company, and while some were able to hold the brass ring, others couldn't reach it, or weren't given the opportunity.

There was a time when WWE didn't have NXT as it does today. FCW or Florida Championship Wrestling was the developmental division WWE (then WWF) had, and many superstars made their way through this developmental territory before making it to the main roster.

In an attempt to give these wrestlers an opportunity to accomplish or know what it feels like to be on the main roster, or be a main event player, the company would give them some side options. Some of them made use of every opportunity thrown at them, while some others didn't make it big.

In this article, I take a look at 5 wrestlers who appeared on WWE TV before they were famous.

#5 Bobby Roode

Persistence pays!
Persistence pays!

Bobby Roode has years of experience under his belt, and despite him being an active wrestler on the main roster now, The Glorious One made an entry in WWE during a segment of SmackDown in 2001 where Triple H was in the ring and addressed his opponent, as Bobby Roode who was dressed as a security guard during those days appeared on WWE Television.

Over the years he worked with Impact Wrestling and other promotions under different names like Beer Money Inc., before breaking barriers and making it to the WWE as a coveted performer. He started with NXT in the company, and is now performing as a tag team partner with Chad Gable.

#4 Sarah Logan

A powerhouse since her initial days on TV
A powerhouse since her initial days on TV

Sarah Logan is a part of the famous 'Riott Squad' on Raw, but the powerhouse of the faction didn't make it big instantly. The powerful performer had to work very hard before making her way to the main roster.

She worked as a makeup artist for The Miz during his gimmick with Damien Sandow, and also as a concessions store executive on Raw with Kane. It is a clear fact that hard work does pay off, and Sarah Logan is a perfect example of the same. She has worked with the company in various capacities, and has always been an asset to the WWE.

It is great to see her in a wonderful faction right now on Raw, and if things go as expected, we may see her in some great storylines and championship pictures.

#3 Johnny Gargano

Johnny Gargano appeared as Cedrik Von Hausen in a sailor's outfit on the 27 March 2000 episode of SmackDown. He fought MVP during this episode and made a great impact. While his hat wasn't good enough, the fact that he made it through the WWE's system to be on the show speaks volumes about his expertise.

WWE is known to have some good wrestlers on the show, and whether it is enhancement talent or some other role, we all know that the company gives the best talents an opportunity to showcase their talent, and if everything goes well, we may see the wrestlers in the company in some better role.

After years of work, we finally saw Johnny Gargano in NXT where he is over with the fans, and was involved in a storyline with the current NXT Champion. This week on NXT he turned his attention to Aleister Black, and his words claim that he may be the mystery attacker.

A great story awaits fans every Wednesday on the yellow brand.

#2 Dean Ambrose

The Lunatic Druid
The Lunatic Druid

If you are a part of The Undertaker's druids, you need to cover your face, but The Lunatic loves to play by his own rules, and that is why when he became a part of The Deadman's entrance during the 2006 Royal Rumble pay-per-view, he didn't cover his face.

Kurt Angle successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Mark Henry at the show, and after the champ ended his match, The Undertaker rose on a horse and rode it while druids accompanied him.

This is a great example that perseverance pays, and if you have it, the company will make you a part of its programming. The Undertaker and The Lunatic did face each other down the line as part of a match, but it would make a great storyline if the company looks at this backstory.

The most important reason behind this option not getting its due is the fact that The Undertaker's health is taking a toll on him, and WrestleMania 35 may be The Reaper's last match at The Shows of Shows, and in WWE.

#1 Stephanie McMahon

Multi-talented woman
Multi-talented woman

Vince McMahon owns the WWE, and Stephanie McMahon learned a lot from this genius during her initial days. While the WWE's Chief Brand Officer is known for her heel work as 'The Authority' among other roles, many of us may not remember her role as one of WWE's first models.

When WWE decided to sell wrestling merchandise, they needed someone with charm and charisma, and no one had that more than Stephanie. 'The Billion Dollar Princess' is known for her work between the ropes, and in board meetings, but very few know that she used to pose for the camera to sell British Bulldog's merchandise, as well as Hulk Hogan T-shirts, hats, among many other products.

Now we all know where that business acumen comes from in the Commissioner of Raw, and it shouldn't surprise us to know that she envisioned WWE Network among other products for the company.
