5 feuds for The Fiend on SmackDown if he loses at Crown Jewel

The Fiend is at risk of losing all momentum with a defeat at Crown Jewel

As difficult as it may be to admit, chances are the WWE are going to book Seth Rollins to defeat The Fiend Bray Wyatt at Crown Jewel this coming Thursday evening.

While they will (hopefully) attempt to protect him in defeat, the feud has done a lot of damage to Wyatt and The Fiend and the WWE will need to repair that quickly before he loses all of his momentum and slips back down the pecking order.

The WWE clearly has a very special character on their hands through The Fiend, and their next steps after Crown Jewel will be absolutely vital to saving him. We know that he is going to be a permanent fixture on SmackDown moving forward, so presuming that Thursday brings an end to his feud with Seth Rollins, let's take a look at five potential feuds for him moving forward.

#5 The Miz

The WWE has already advertised Bray Wyatt to appear on the SmackDown after Saudi Arabia in a MizTV segment.

It is presumed that Wyatt will appear as himself and not as The Fiend, which will be the first time we have seen him in a WWE ring in over a year.

If Wyatt does lose his match at Crown Jewel, then this could be an opportunity for him to gain back some momentum by taking out The Miz and setting up a small feud between the two.

The Fiend and Wyatt could then continue to play mind-games with The Miz over the coming weeks, before squashing him in a match at Survivor Series. While Wyatt will have no doubt been damaged by a loss to Rollins and will not quite have the same presence as he did before, this will still go some way to helping him regain some of that lost momentum and make the Fiend a force to be reckoned with on Friday nights.

#4 Roman Reigns

Let's face it, Seth Rollins is the Roman Reigns of 2019, so if the company really wants to get some momentum back on the side of Bray Wyatt and The Fiend, then a feud and subsequent victory over Roman Reigns could be one of the smartest ways to go about it.

Reigns has already reached a level where a defeat in a major feud does no damage to his reputation, but having somebody go over him would give them a huge boost.

On top of that, these two men have both had some excellent matches against one another in the past and an extended series of matches between them could really help give SmackDown's main event scene a much-needed boost.

The history between the two men also gives Wyatt some fun material to play with in the Firefly Fun House, and despite Wyatt being the heel in this feud, it would also help keep up some momentum with the fans if he were to be beating down on Roman Reigns each and every week.

The issue surrounding this match is the WWE will probably want to put Roman Reigns back in the WWE title picture very soon, given that he hasn't challenged for a major title throughout 2019.

#3 Braun Strowman

One of the few Wyatt Family match-ups we haven had the opportunity to see in the WWE is one between Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt.

Strowman's time in the Wyatt Family was fairly short and he soon moved away from the group to go and make a name for himself as a singles star.

Given Wyatt's penchant for revisiting the past since he made his big return, this feud probably wouldn't be too difficult to set up. The shared history of the two men could easily be tied into a storyline and it could be interesting to see Wyatt wrestle with his conscience as The Fiend lays waste to one of his former allies. We have already seen The Fiend take out Strowman once already, so they could easily build that into the story as well.

The only potential issue the WWE might have with booking this feud is that both men are both likely to need a boost after defeats at Crown Jewel. Strowman and Wyatt have both become perennial losers when it comes to major feuds, and it might be a smarter idea to book them both into different feuds that they can record a significant victory in.

That being said, a feud between the two could still be a lot of fun if the WWE weren't too heavy handed and made Strowman look strong in defeat.

#2 Brock Lesnar

If the WWE is feeling bold following Crown Jewel, they could instantly throw The Fiend into the hunt for the WWE Championship, presuming Brock Lesnar retains his title at Crown Jewel that is.

The two men have never really had too much of an extended feud, with their only real encounters coming back at the start of 2016 after Bray Wyatt and the rest of the Wyatt Family eliminated Brock Lesnar from the Royal Rumble. Lesnar would get sidetracked by his feud with Dean Ambrose and the rivalry between the two men was simply forgotten about.

The Fiend will need a serious momentum boost if he loses to Rollins at Crown Jewel and having him come out and attack Lesnar on Friday would be the perfect way to do that.

Wyatt would then need to book as Lesnar's equal over the coming months and the WWE would have to handle this rivalry very carefully indeed. Done right though, this could be a huge feud for SmackDown and one that could really help boost their ratings. The Fiend, despite his appalling booking, is still one of the most popular acts in the WWE right now and a WWE title pursuit could be big money if handled correctly.

#1 Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan will need a big feud after turning face again
Daniel Bryan will need a big feud after turning face again

One of Bray Wyatt's all-time greatest feuds in the WWE came when he briefly feuded with Daniel Bryan at the start of 2014. Bryan shocked the WWE Universe by aligning himself with Bray Wyatt and the rest of the Wyatt Family, and then provided us with one of the most iconic moments in recent Raw history when he turned on Wyatt and closed the show with the crowd chanting 'Yes!'.

A lot has changed for the two men since then, and with Daniel Bryan now looking to have turned full-face once again, a feud between the two men could turn out to be very interesting.

Bryan is the perfect crowd favorite, someone who can help get someone back on the right track. Having The Fiend torment him over the coming months could help get Wyatt back over as a force to be reckoned with.

Bryan's status as the ultimate underdog in the WWE is the perfect match for the Fiend and having him eventually defeat Bryan when they finally step into the ring together could go some way into helping banish the memory of his terrible Seth Rollins feud out of the minds of the WWE Universe.
