WrestleMania is here once again
WrestleMania is here once again

WrestleMania has long been the greatest show on earth for wrestling fans across the globe and will always invoke memories, nostalgia, and excitement. Part of that is the pageantry of the show itself, part the culmination of storylines that sometimes run for a year or more.

These major storylines are backed up by promo videos that hype the match and, give an insight into why the individuals are wrestling. There are some promo's that live long in people's memories and tie into some of the best WrestleMania matches in history.

#5 Kane vs Undertaker - WrestleMania XX

The Brothers of Destruction have had their stories intertwined since In Your House: Badd Blood when Kane debuted by ripping the door of the first ever 'Hell in a Cell' match and, caused the Undertaker to lose against Shawn Michaels.

Fast forward to 2004 and many things had changed since that first encounter. Kane was unmasked whilst, the Undertaker was performing as 'The American Badass'. A final confrontation between the two ended at Survivor Series 03 when Kane interfered in a 'Buried Alive' match and put his brother Undertaker six feet under.

After weeks of teasing, The Undertaker resurfaced as The Deadman, and set up a brother vs brother match at WrestleMania XX.

#4 Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker - WrestleMania XXVI

After a stellar match at WrestleMania XXV between the two Texans, Michaels wanted one more chance to prove that he still had the ability to perform. Undertaker refused the re-match initially, which led to Michaels entering the Royal Rumble, so he could pick the then World Champion 'Taker as his WrestleMania opponent.

Michaels lost, and then cost 'Taker his title in Elimination Chamber. This angered 'The Deadman' and, finally, he agreed to a rematch at 'Mania, as long as Michaels retired if he lost.

The match would go down as one of the best WWE matches ever and, invoked heartache for the millions of 'Heartbreak Kid' fans across the world.

#3 The Rock vs Stone Cold Steve Austin - WrestleMania XIX

This was the third and the final Rock vs Austin WrestleMania match, and also, Stone Cold's last ever wrestling match. Steve Austin had won both the previous 'Mania encounters between the two and, knew that his time in wrestling was almost done.

This set up one last chance to capture the gold at 'Mania vs The Rock. Limp Bizkit provided the soundtrack as they did 2 years earlier at WrestleMania X-Seven, and showed just how much the title meant to both these Superstars.

#2 Daniel Bryan - WrestleMania XXX

The story of Daniel Bryan in the WWE is both tragic and heartwarming. Whilst WWE does mix story and real life on occasion, this was one where the lines were blurred massively. WWE legitimately did not believe Bryan was a World Champion and, saw him as a top rate mid-card wrestler.

The fans and his peers got behind the 'Yes Movement' and soon made WWE take notice. Plans were changed behind the scenes and not only did Bryan beat Triple H in the opening match, he went on to beat Randy Orton and Batista later on to win the WWE Championships.

The video package was a goosebump-inducing classic which is still played to show what can be achieved when you have heart and soul.

#1 Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Rock - WrestleMania X-Seven

Arguably the best WrestleMania of them all, with arguably the two biggest WWE stars of all time, for the WWF Championship.

There are not too many words to describe this video and how it set up the match at WrestleMania X-Seven, other than there not being a more fitting song (My Way - Limp Bizkit) and, video selection to promote one of the biggest matches ever.
