5 Greatest WWE Entrances at WrestleMania

Let's be honest. WrestleMania is the biggest show on earth, at least, in the wrestling world. It's not an overstatement to compare it to the football world cup or the NFL Superbowl.

When Vince McMahon launched his vision for wrestling 35 years ago, it personified with what came to be known as Sports Entertainment.

Celebrities, musicians, professional athletes and WWE Superstars performed in fronts of thousands of fans or the WWE Universe as it is known today. It would not be an overstatement to compare Vince McMahon to a modern-day P.T. Barnum.

His vision has come true in more ways than one with WWE becoming a wrestling empire that dominates the hearts and minds of millions of fans worldwide.

And the fusion of storytelling, in-ring action, and the audience make for an electric combination. And it all starts as soon as a WWE Superstar makes his way down that ramp.

With every WrestleMania comes another high-octane event. One of the more fun parts of Mania has been the entrances.

As a child, it was cool to watch Goldberg in WCW slowly walk to the ring alongside trainers and/or police officers and walk through fireworks and pyros.

And he snorted the smoke he inhaled, akin to a raging bull in a china shop. The Undertaker had his slow walk to the ring in darkness as he raised the lights, Ultimate Warrior ran to the ring and shook the ropes like a force of nature or even the understated Bret Hart entrance.

In essence, the WWE superstars entrances are an extension of their respective characters. Let's take a look at five memorable WWE entrances that thrilled audiences at WrestleMania.

#5 John Cena, WrestleMania 25, Army of Cenas

While John Cena is not my favorite WWE Superstar, he knows how to make an entrance. The entry of multiple Cena clones at WrestleMania 25 may resemble an old sci-fi film aimed at giving heart attacks to Cena haters everywhere but for the rest of the WWE Universe, it was just more of a good thing.

The atmosphere is electric and John Cena running through wall-to-wall duplicates of himself with the cameraman following him close behind, proving a POV to the audience in the arena as well as those watching at home adds to the overall idea of 'the champ is here.'

#4 The Undertaker, WrestleMania 14, Wall of Fire

Wall of Fire

The Undertaker character has always been associated with the dark arts and his connection with the underworld.

WrestleMania 14 also laid the groundwork for what would eventually be the beginnings of one of the more legendary WWE feuds, partnership, and storylines. I'm talking about Kane.

This would be the first time Undertaker would face the Big Red Machine in a WWE ring. As Jim Ross says in his commentary, who will be the one to rest in peace?

With another WWE entrance that is enthralling with druids coming out with fire torches as the Undertaker comes out slowly through a wall of fire, in a jacket that was fit for Dracula but moreover, exemplifying the true power of The Deadman as he would face his greatest foe in the form of his long-lost brother.

While it is notable that this WWE entrance was actually a step in the evolution of the Undertaker from Phenom to the 'Prince of Darkness' and the eventual formation of the ministry, it was a sight to behold and just damn good storytelling.

#3 HHH, WrestleMania 30, King of Everything

WrestleMania 30 is most remembered for 'The Yes Movement' and the year of Daniel Bryan. As most of the WWE Universe would remember, the American Dragon had to get past the cerebral assassin in order to make it to the main event.

The storyline up to this point exemplified the concept of 'The Authority' consisting of Triple H and Stephanie McMahons making decisions that went against the WWE fans and essentially dubbing Bryan a 'B+ player.'

Triple H seemed to have a long fascination with the Conan the Barbarian character. In the past, he was even rumored for a part in King Conan: Crown of Iron which never got made.

Getting to the point, the entrance ideates what his character was at that point of time and what Daniel Bryan was getting himself to.

Thematically, the sleeping, immortal, all-powerful 'King of Kings' had awoken to unleash war on the foolish mortal who would dare disturb his slumber.

His three 'maidens' add to the mystic of the moment. And for those watching, here's a bit of WWE trivia. Those 3 women are none other than Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss.

#2 Shawn Michaels, WrestleMania 12, Jumping off Rooftops

In my opinion, WrestleMania 12 had one of the best main events in WrestleMania history. The legendary WWE feud between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels is probably the greatest of all time.

Their real-life animosity towards one another is well documented for the WWE universe in numerous promos and documentaries. But the truth was that they got the best of each other in the ring.

No other pair could have pulled off an endurance test like the 60-minute ironman match. This would really mark the beginning of Shawn Michaels as Mr. WrestleMania.

The Showstopper was known for his athleticism, highrisk maneuvers and entertaining in-ring storytelling.

The buildup to this match cast The Hitman as a grizzled veteran armed with technical prowess whereas HBK was the showstopper looking to fulfill a boyhood dream.

By dropping off the rooftop in a sliding harness as his entrance, it was an extension of the HBK character who would go on to thrill fans in the years to come.

#1 The Undertaker, WrestleMania 29, Demon From Below

The Man From Death Valley
The Man From Death Valley

There are so many WWE entrances that could have easily taken the #1 spot. It's hard to pick one as it is entirely subjective.

The Undertaker has some of the best entrances of any WWE superstar. In my opinion, this is easily one of the best and probably one of his most horrifying.

At WrestleMania 29, CM Punk would take on The Undertaker in a bid to end his WrestleMania streak, which at a time, was still unbroken.

Alongside Paul Heyman, he taunted the Phenom, in the buildup, by muddying the memory of Paul Bearer, with the urn that his former friend and manager used to carry to the ring.

CM Punk had broken a rule that riled the prince of darkness, resulting in Undertaker bringing hellfire and brimstone with him to WrestleMania. This WWE entrance had everything that built on the story of a demon rising from the depths of hell with The Undertaker walking through hands reaching out for him in despair.

For the most devoted of WWE fans, it could be easily interpreted as the souls of WWE superstars who perished at his hands in the ring. For others, it was just freaking cool.

Whatever the WWE Universe was feeling at that moment, it was just another insight as to why WrestleMania is the showcase of the immortals.
