5 highly successful NXT Superstars who have become absolutely insignificant on the main roster

Triple H can't be happy!

Every NXT Superstar dreams of making it to the main roster one day. These Superstars don't just want to be a part of the main roster but want to shine and make an impact on the biggest stage a wrestler can reach.

However, while some of these Superstars are successful in realizing these dreams, some others are unable to. There are quite a few lucky Superstars who were not very successful in NXT but managed to turn around their luck on reaching the main roster.

While it would be fair to say that Superstars such as Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, Sasha Banks, and The Revival have not been used up to their potential, they still have received quite a few opportunities to make their mark and still have a chance to turn their careers around.

Let us take a look at 5 NXT Success stories who have been damaged beyond repair thanks to their stint on the main roster:

#5 Bo Dallas

Dallas was the youngest NXT Champion, and one of the best heels the yellow brand has ever seen. However, unfortunately for Bray Wyatt's younger brother, his run on the main roster would see him become an insignificant jobber.

Anyone who watched Dallas during his NXT days knows what a talented performer he is. Even before turning 25, Dallas had already mastered the art of garnering heel heat from the crowd at a moment's notice - something legends like Roddy Piper were famous for.

While Dallas is a former RAW Tag Team Champion, it was more of a comedic run more than anything else. Being thrown into one tag team to another, it is clear that Vince McMahon has failed to see the potential in a possible singles run for the former NXT Champion.

Unfortunately for Bo, the future looks bleak as it would be difficult for almost anyone to take him seriously after the kind of booking he has received ever since he made his way to the main roster.

#4 Sami Zayn

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are two names that are almost synonymous with each other. Both Superstars made a major mark on the independent circuit - winning world Championships in ROH, as well - before making their way to NXT.

Even though Zayn was first to reach WWE, Kevin Owens has overtaken Zayn to the point where it looks impossible for 'The Underdog from The Underground' to catch up. While Kevin Owens has managed to win multiple Championships including the Universal Championship, Zayn is yet to win his first main roster Championship even after being on the main roster for roughly 3 years.

Zayn essentially served as a 'gatekeeper' during his babyface days on the roster, helping heels from NXT get over on the main roster. However, not much has changed for the Canadian Superstar even after turning heel. Although Zayn is one of the most experienced members of the roster, it looks like the WWE Chairman just doesn't see a Superstar in him.

#3 Tyler Breeze

Prince Pretty is one of 'NXT Originals' and has a cult following amongst the fans of the yellow brand. While Breeze had a rocky start to his career on the main roster, quickly being turned into a jobber after his initial feud with Dolph Ziggler ended.

However, Breeze was able to turn his fate around, as Fandango and Breeze captured their fanbase by coming up with weekly WWE.Com vignettes called Fashion Files which became an instant success with the WWE Universe. Unfortunately for Breezango, while the fans were white-hot for their Tag Team, Vince McMahon did not want them as the SmackDown Tag Team Champions.

After Fandango suffered injury, Tyler Breeze moved back to NXT and has again become an integral part of the yellow brand. Even Fandango recently made his way to NXT and it looks like Breezango is there to stay - at least for the time being!

#2 Asuka

The Empress of Tomorrow holds the record for the longest undefeated streak in WWE. A streak that was made during most of her NXT run but got shattered on her very first WrestleMania at the hands of Charlotte Flair. Asuka remained undefeated during her entire NXT run and had to vacate the NXT Women's Championship before she got called up to the main roster.

While Asuka received a major push on the main roster initially, winning the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble, it was all downhill from there. Even though Asuka managed to win the SmackDown Women's Championship, it was a highly unmemorable run and she was merely a transitional Champion.

Asuka is now part of a tag team along with fellow Japanese Superstar Kairi Sane. The duo known as Kabuki Warriors is hardly significant even though they are being managed by Paige. While WWE continues to march forward on their road to Women's Evolution, it is unfortunate that Asuka continues to be overlooked.

#1 Robert Roode

This former NXT and Impact World Champion, who was considered by many as the second coming of Triple H can now be seen chasing the 24/7 Champion backstage on RAW or SmackDown along with all other Superstars WWE has no plans for.

The 'Glorious' Bobby Roode was a certified heel during his days in NXT. However, Vince McMahon decided that Roode should be turned face as soon as he joined the main roster. This resulted in Roode coming out to his 'glorious' music in a Ric Flair-esque robe jumping and dancing like a joker.

One of the most hated heels in NXT, Roode suddenly lost all credibility as he failed to pull off the babyface character on the main roster. While Roode has won the US Championship and RAW Tag Team Championships, there is no denying that he is being criminally underused on the main roster even though he has everything required to be a top star - experience, mic skills, in-ring ability, and charisma.
